true. And I can tell you that every time Oneal plays defense he is fouling left and right and nothing is called.

One thing I'd like to see more of is Melo and Stat playing a 2 man game. You rarely see them setting each other up, the ball usually goes through someone else first. I think it would help them get on the same page chemistry wise, which I don't see yet.

Bad news..

GREENBURGH, N.Y. (AP)—Amare Stoudemire says his back is worse and needs to feel better if he is going to play in Game 4 of the Knicks’ series against Boston.

Stoudemire missed the second half of Game 2 on Tuesday with back spasms and was told the injury takes three weeks to heal. He played Friday night and struggled with seven points, shooting 2 of 8 in 33 minutes.

The All-Star forward says he was below 50 percent and was “pretty much in pain the whole game, from start to finish.” Game 4 is Sunday afternoon, and Stoudemire says he wants to make a smart decision and not worsen the injury.

“If I feel better tomorrow, then we’ll see how it goes,” he said. “If not, then hopefully we still can get a win.”

it's not worth the risk. back injuries threaten to rob their victims of all explosiveness. i rather a game 4 loss and a healthy, explosive Amare next year, than a token win and the second coming of LJ.

This is why depending on a single aging star is bad. The guy was a beast early this year and began breaking down toward the end of the season.

I hope our next coach understands pacing and doesn't run our stars into the ground early in the season.

the injury was a freak thing. despite being run into the ground by MDA this season, Amare came out in game one looking every bit as dominant as he did when the season started.

Yeah it does look like D'Antoni treats his players like rental cars at times. I agree that its not worth it if Amare is that hurt.
