Will he actually be out? Or is it more so a "questionable" thing for tomorrow's game? Philly lost so we're actually still in 6th.

alan hahn said it was an "injured quad"... which seems like it could be a few days to heal up... or it could be lingering thing.

if he just got a charlie horse from dwight howard's giant fouling ****sucking knee... then okay...

hopefully he'll be back tomorrow or the next game.

Billups, the heart and brains of the operation, has a deep left thigh bruise and it doesn't look for Wednesday's game vs. New Orleans

Honestly, if he has to rest it for a game or two I wouldn't mind that. He's been HUGE but in the end, I'd rather have him ready for playoff basketball.

Hope Chauncey is OK. He's REALLY IMPORTANT to this teams success.

I know it was Shelden's 1st game actions here, but I wasn't impressed with him at all. He seems like he's just another 6 fouls to give and not much else. Hopefully he can give us much better than he did tonight.

It gives us an extended look at Carter I don't know if he will help but it gives them a chance to find out

Assume we lost, or did get beaten?

Nelson does this from time to time.

ball movement has to occur. Lando looks tentitive and Melo will go one on four and can't fathom kicking the ball out.

Blame the fact we got beat. Blame the lack of chemistry. It happens.

Melo has to realize that he has a team and doesn't have to take shots against 4 guys. It's a mentality that he's had and needs to learn to trust his teammates. He's got tons of help.

Most NBA players when they catch the rebound in the paint, they are going back up with it hard. Most times thats a bucket and/or a foul. Against Howard, it's a block. I don't blame him for going up with the shot. If he brings the ball down, he gets stripped, when your in the paint, no one is looking to kick it back out.

If he was dribbling into 4 people then yes, but this time no.
he had a bad shooting night, and they played good D on him. not sure what you want him to do. Since trade, 2-2. As long as we stay in the 6 spot, we're good.

Don't think Nixluva was referring to a specific play. I know I wasn't.

i watched the entire game too, didn't see where he went up against 4 guys. He drives, he was getting hacked. He is passing, I just don't see what everyone is looking for him to do. You can't cheer him when he makes the shots and big plays and then criticize him when he does the same thing and misses. What I saw, Melo taking it to the hoop hard, not getting calls. Was D'ed up pretty good and missed some jumpers. That's his game, he was off.

Who else besides him and stat were doing anything.

I agree with you!

Melo played like Melo just had a rough half and was fouled a lot and got no calls!..... Im starting
to believe that refs have it out for KNICKS!!

I have already said this many times we have been robbed of at least 6 games due to officials.

But it is what it is.

Melo has an off night and gets 25 ..... Ok I'll take it!!

Oh and Billups also played well with Stat and Melo!

I miss Gallo but we robbed Denver!

If you look at it we gave a # 6 pick Gallo a # 29 pick in Chandler a # 13 in AR
Felton and Moz for Melo Who in most drafts would be a # 1 pick and a #3 in Billups
Who scares most teams to death!

Lets stop hating our team already.

We lost to a top 5 team after Billups got hurt

No big deal!!

I hate we lost tonight but the Magic and the Lakers are our worst match ups in my opinion!

We lack where they excel

Nelson going off put them over the edge tonight.

We had 2 30 point scorers and Melo got 25

Those guys look too good and once role players start to fill their role better
we will be tough.

4 games in 2-2 is not shabby..... We need to gel a lot better but we didnt lose ground
so we are ok....... NO at home tomorrow is now a must win for me but if Billups is hurt
we are in trouble.

Bibby would of been who I signed ....... If Billups misses one game it will suck for us!!

KNICKS on the way UP!!!

we don't have a semblance of a coherent offense and it hurt us today against a disciplined defensive team... melo went into hero mode and basically shot the magic back into the ball game and down the stretch forced the action... stat got obliterated on the boards again...

we won the TO battle and eventually evened out the FT battle even though we should've won that one as well.... we did get outrebounded numbers but it was more even since we got more offensive boards...

we had 17 more shots than them! how do you lose? by shooting 37 percent.. and prime culprit is melo although non-Amar'e, non-billups players could not hit an open shot either..

i'm pretty sure we can figure it out and i can accept this loss because orlando is a good team and this is what happens against good teams... however at some point the melo iso to heavily contested 18ft jumpers have got to stop and i hope mda sits him down and has a long talk with him. we must score everytime melo or amare get the ball while they're moving or when the defense isn't set which bodes really well for us. at the moment we have 2 of the greatest scorers in the nba yet we're playing like a league average offense and that's not going to cut it...

Just looking over the box score -- thank God for Fields' big contributions on the glass every game..I don't know where we'd be w/o this kid's rebounding---we'd get outrebounded every game..We got outrebounded last night 45-38..Fields had 11 but Amar'e had only 2, Turiaf 3.. How did Amar'e only have 2 rebounds??? In almost 38 mins??? WTF? LOL

People talk about quality bigs, but considering our offensive prowess, we need any kind of size at C to grab rebounds and have any presence there. Jeffries will help there and if D'antoni rotates him with Turiaf, we may have the closest look to a traditional lineup on this system.

Please, no more Amare at center! I know with D'antoni it will never happen (stubborn would rather lose than give up his small ball system), but the best for NY is no Amare at C.

Yup. Amare at center only worked with the past roster (Gallo, Mayor and Fields) to some degree. In this current squad, he needs a true rebounding center to protect him.

The worst thing that happened last night was when Turkuglu got ejected. Ron Jeremy had to put in QRich to guard Melo and his physicality put Melo off kilter. This enabled Dwight to help out quicker cause Melo could not get his shot off right away because of the bumping and grinding QRich was doing.

Too bad Fields shooting was seriously awful. He missed so many wide open shots its ridiculous. I am not sure why he is suddenly so off on his shot, maybe its the pressure, maybe he was bound to come back to earth after such a great first half of the season. We need him to step up big time though, he is the key in my opinion to the Knicks playing well. You know Stat, Melo, and Chancey are going to get theirs, but when they pass it off to Fields he has to knock those shots down.

I agree, his rebounding is very nice and Amare needs to pick his up big time.

The shots he is taking now as compared to pre-trade is that before it was in the flow of the game. Now he is standing behind the 3pt line and is being asked to catch and shoot. It really is not his game right now.

The problem is I think that is what this team needs, not Landry in the flow of the game but a guy Melo, Billups, and Stat can kick it out to who can knock down the open shot. The question is, can Landry adjust to that or does the offense need to change to fit him in?
