i'd be ecstatic just to make it into the top 3... but something tells me they're not even interested in taking a kid like Derozan, & that's what pisses me off about this franchise... but like you, i'm gonna stay hopeful.

ok, so am i correct in assuming your order of preference goes something like this?

1 - Griffin
2 - Thabeet
3 - Derozan
4 - Evans
5 - Mullens

Thats it

Jay Bilas agreed with me on Griffin Thabeet and Evans--he had Rubio 3 and Jordan Hill 4

I can tell you this, he (MDA? Walsh?) would not take a Nate or Harrington in this draft. They are both the type of players who whet your appetite because of their talent, but end up not being able to play the game the way you really want them to play it. I actually like both of them in small doses, but based on what I saw this past year, you are not going to be super successful with these guys each playing 35 MPG in your rotation.

If Nate was in this draft crop I could just imagine people arguing over his game, and at one point someone, maybe me, would have said that even though he seems like more of a shooting guard than a classic PG, he can learn to play the point- he has all the tools. Someone else would have said he is the best pick available, forget about whether or not he can play in this or that system.

Well if you knew that Nate's play of last year was what you were going to get from Nate as a "PG," would you have chosen him?

Oddest thing to say since Walsh drafted Harrington and proceeded to trade him away and acquire him two more times and D'Antoni was very high on Nate back in 05 and was prepared to keep him if the deal with NY fell though. Oh well. Forget logic and fact.

I like Briggs top 5. That would leave us with either Hill, Harden or Rubio. That's sexy. Go Briggs!!!

I think in 2-3 years Mullens will be the guy who teams go--darn I couldve had him. I think the main reason that he is being discounted is his lack of touches because the OS guards did not get him the ball enough. I outlined what he did when he was *involved* in the offense and the only player who had more efficient play was Griffin. Personally I think Mullens if he stayed in school and advanced his game would be a top 3 or 5 pick next year easily. He'd be very very good after some transitional time in this style of play. Look at the playoff games last night--big and intermediate players rule the league--always have. If I have a Derrick Rose type athlete sitting there--thats one thing--otherwise I would almost always go for intermediate or big in the top of the draft--especially this shtty one. A lot of the better smaller guards in the league were taken later in the first round

I want Curry with the 8th pick. His shooting ability is top notch. He has shown that he can handle the PG duties and he has big cojones.

PG-Curry
SG-The Mayor
SF-Gallo
PF-DLee
C-???

If the Godfather can buy a late first and take Mullens would be ideal.

if Derozan's gone i'm all for that idea, but Clips will probably be looking to trade Zach & Camby this offseason to make room in the frontcourt.

how about we offer up Q Rich & DEN's '10 2nd rounder for Camby & Ricky Davis? they're all expiring deals.

Just a little reminder about what Curry did on an inferior Davidson team in the 2008 ncaa tournament.
On March 21, 2008, Davidson matched up with seventh seeded Gonzaga University. Despite Gonzaga being ahead by as many as 11 points early in the second half of this game, Curry scored 30 points in that half[17] to push Davidson to their first NCAA Tournament win since 1969, 82–76. Curry ended up with 40 points, going 8-for-10 from 3-point range.[18] On March 23, Davidson played second seeded Georgetown University in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Georgetown entered the game as a heavy favorite after an appearance in the Final Four in 2007 and holding a number eight national ranking. Curry was held to only five points in the first half of the game, and his team trailed by 17 points at that point. However, Curry scored 25 points in the second half to push Davidson to a stunning 74–70 win.[17]

On March 28, 2008, Curry led Davidson to another upset against third seeded Wisconsin. With NBA superstar LeBron James in attendance[19], Curry scored 33 points over his defender Michael Flowers, who was considered one of the best in the nation. Davidson easily won 73–56, advancing the school to the Elite 8 for the first time since 1969.[20] In this game, Curry joined Clyde Lovellette of Kansas, Jerry Chambers of Utah and Glenn Robinson of Purdue as the only players to go over 30 in their first four career NCAA tournament games.[20] Curry also tied the single-season record for most three-pointers made in one season set by Darrin Fitzgerald of Butler University in 1986-87 with 158.[19][21] He set the record in the next game against the Kansas Jayhawks with his 159th three-pointer of the season. Despite Curry's 25 points, Davidson fell to the top-seeded Jayhawks, (which would go on to win the tournament) 59-57 on March 30, 2008.[22]

With Curry, an inferior Davidson team beat a 7th seed, a 2nd seed and a 3rd seed and finally lost to the team that one the tournament by two points.

I've posted this many times, but people don't seem to be interested in it. To me, that's amazing and watching Curry that year was amazing.

?? How do you figure that. Reddick went to the Final Four and was named all-american. And won the National Player of the Year award. Curry doesn't have anything close to Redick's accomplishments in his career.

I was never once impressed with what Reddick was doing that year. Curry, I was impressed with and you're completely off about him not having anything close to his accomplishments. Look at the guys that Reddick played with, tell me what Curry would have done with that same team.

Curry IMO is a better shooter than JJ and a much better passer. That is why I have faith in Curry even though guys like JJ and Langdon did not have much impact in the league. Curry can play pg, especially in a MDA offense. Thus, he has a skill that JJ and Langdon do not have. Plus, he is just simply a better shooter. This kid is the best shooter in the nation and when NBA players are saying he might be the best shooter in the world that means something. I remember Dell Curry's ability to shoot and that dude could simply light it up if you did not have someone right in his grill. Curry may be an even better shooter than his dad.

another thing about curry I saw was his ability to hit different kinds of shots. One hand flips, mini jump hook off the glass, I mean the kid can score in any way.... the key is that you won't be able to sit back off him at any moment because he will shoot anywhere over the half court line.... and make it...

I like Curry but I am trying not to get two excited/interested in him or any player I like, because it is always a possibility that we won't get him.

At this point I am expecting us to get a nice prospect no matter who is left for us to choose from.

I just want the best guy for our team, and at this point I don't really care who it is.
