BTW, was I the only one that kinda enjoyed hearing Mark Aguirre in the backround, shouting instructions to the players?

Aguirre is great. He should be the top assistant.

Aguirre reminds me of every older person I had around me when I was growing up playing basketball....not the wanna be'sm but the guys that played the game and just loved it. I found that these guys were better than any coach that I have come across.

How do you get a coaching job anyway? Most coaches out there are idiots and are killing the game.

Aguirre is the man though. I love the way he talks abotu the game.

There's nothing wrong with Balkman being like Ariza...if you did that 2004 draft over, Ariza probably would've been taken in the 20's. Just like Balkman in this, much weaker draft.

Here is the thing. Balkman is more promising than Ariza when he was a rookie. DLee can hit the 20' jump shot!!!!!!....this is huge people.!!!! Frye has the strength to play PF now. Nate is still Nate....Collins reminds me of Charlie Ward, only bigger. The youth of this team in 1 year will be good. The potential for this team is getting there.

i agree with briggs, and if didn't trade ariza, we wouldn't have picked up balkman and you guys would have had that uconn product point.

briggs, you make a great point, their differences are minimal in reeezy was more raw and could fill the lanes and balkman is obviously older and plays better man defense.

I wish we still had ariza.

i guess none of you guys clicked that link, David Lee 20/8...

also we DOMINIATED this game from the second quarter on...what you would expect from our second year crop...so far in Summer League (compared to last year) we are showing significant progress.

so far.

Well what i dont get is why did they give up on Ariza wheh he just turned 20 years old? Isiah makes a good pick, finds him in the mid 40s[where balkman shouldve been picked] he makes an impact as a rookie, and then all of a sudden he is gone--I guy who was thought of pretty highly as a guy who made an imprint already in the league at 19--all of a sudden hes garbage, he stinks.

You have a top PG prospect who just dominated in the NCAA tournamenet who's play has been lauded for 2 years---coming from a school that has spewed impact pro after impact pro----look at Hilton Armstrong's numbers in 23 minutes last night-- im just flabergasted that at 23 wins we could bypass a talent like that for a player we couldve picked anywhere from 29 to 60

I'm not sure why people aren't 100% clear that reezy was traded to placate brown...he called him delussional and he was sent packing...the knicks didn't give up on him, larry did...and people can argue around that fact all they want...Larry wanted reezy gone.

Things that will come to pass in the first SL game.

1:Nate is going to lead the team in scoring this game.
2:Collins is going to have at least 2 stls
3:Nate is going to have a circus dunk on a fast break
4:Frye is going to nail at least 4 15 ft jumpers and 2 jump hooks
5:Balkman is going to have 4 offensive rebs
6:Lee is going to finish 2 fast break attempts
7:Collins is going to set Balkman & that undrafted free agent who I can't think of his name right now for alleys. 1 each.

I accidentaly edited when I was trying to reply with quote.

That's why I am giving Isiah the benefit of the doubt on Balkman. He has drafted well (albeit not perfectly) even while he has been a terrible negotiator, which is why his trades have been so poor.

I don't think that Isiah was drafting Williams, no matter what.

Excellent report! These guys have improved greatly, from last year. I think it's just about time to let the young guys start taking over the games, our top three are certainly ready. It's funny reading the paragraphs on Nate. You'd think you were reading about a guy who was 6'-6". He's like a baby Michael Jordan. It is understandable why Balkman and Collins would have some questions right now, but next year, it sounds like they'll also be on this level of play also. Let's hope so.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I bet he doesn't make those kinds of trades anymore! And he said he got exactly what he wanted, when he drafted these two guys.

Briggs you kidding right? You weren't around for the early part of the season. Brown wanted the guy gone. Out the door. Just listen to the Orlando people, who killed Brown every chance they could get.
