I wonder how Denver will play against a zone. It might be hard for teams to stop Denver from throwing lobs to Faried and McGee against a zone though.

I think the biggest problem teams will have with denver is the absolute blazing speed of lawson.. dude is running down your back before you know it..... almost impossible to stop... puts so much pressure on the defense.. I mean even on makes, he is pushing the ball back before defense can set up.. it is nuts with this guy.. LOL

Yup. Denver and Houston play the same exact way. Except, Denver has more shot blockers and generate their fastbreaks on blocked shots, rebounds off missed and made baskets. Houston fastbreaks off steals, rebounds off missed and made baskets

yea, both teams run off turnovers, one thing denver has is a bit more experience...

Yup. Denver has a better backup PG in Andre Miller and deeper at SG as well. Let's do a comparison...

PG - Lin v Lawson - even
SG - Harden v Iggy - Harden
SF - Parsons v Gallo - Gallo
PF - Montijunas v Farried - Farried
C - Asik v Koufos - even

Bench - (Robinson, Smith, Delfino, Beverley, Anderson, Garcia, Jones) v (Miller, Wilson, McGee, Moz, Randolph, Brewer) - Nuggets

Coach - McHale v Karl - Karl

Looking at this I would say Denver is a little better, but I like the Rockets a little better because of what Harden brings.

I am a huge lin fan, believe me, I am.. Not sure if he and lawson are even.. have to give the edge to lawson at this point.. although, I do think can one day be as good if not surpass lawson..I do think lin can run an offense better, is a better passer, but lawson is the better finisher/ shooter..

Asik is also better than koufos.... the key with denver is when they get production out of Mcgee, that guy can be a doofus.. LOL, but can also be a game changer... I really don't have problems with your other comparisons..

Fair enough on Lin and Lawson. Lawson definitely a better shooter. Not sure about the finisher though. Lin can finish with the best of them.

Asik I think is better but I take off points for not knowing how to catch a damn ball.

McGee is just a youtube clip waiting to happen.

yea, what I mean by finishing is that lawson seems to get to the hoop a half step faster and his drives often result in layups with no contact, he can finish quick at the rim, where as lin takes a lot of contact... both guys are very good tho....

asik needs to learn how to catch a ball, that I agree with... he cost lin and harden at least an assist apiece each game.. LOL

23 points is decent, 21 boards is great but 11 blocks? 11 blocks is unheard of...

Will Philly regret trading for Bynum and not keeping Vucevic? CAn Nikola develop into a more all around player.

Side note: The Bill Russel video jumping over a guy for a lay up is awesome.

It's been a while since Denver's faced an actual NBA contender. 14 games to be exact (Indy).

During Denver's previous 13 games they've played the Rockets, Hornets, Bucks, Bulls, Cavs, Celtics, Raptors, Nets, Celtics, Wizards, Bobcats, Lakers and Trail Blazers.

They have gone 9-4 but of those 13 games, 7 of these teams wouldn't have made the postseason if the season were to end today in regards to the Hornets, Cavs, Raptors, Wizards, Bobcats, Lakers and Portland.

Teams such as the Rockets (31-28), Bucks (28-28), Bulls (33-25), Celtics (30-27) and Nets (34-24) aren't true NBA contenders either.

Now tonight, during the only game that's on after our Knicks, I get a chance to see how Denver responds to a true NBA contender such as OKC. 1-1 against OKC. Won by three in overtime but then again, also lost by 20 @ OKC.

Also, is Danilo Gallinari expected to play tonight or not? He's now missed two consecutive games. Dude is quickly becoming an injury prone and/or often injured player.

Missed 54 games during his rookie season due to injury.
Only missed 1 game during his 2nd season due to injury.
Missed 13 games during his 3rd season due to injury.
Missed 23 games (during a shortened season) last year due to injury.
Here in 2012-2013? He's now missed 5 games due to injury.

Something tells me he's on the verge of missing a lot more than only 5 games here in 2012-2013... But yea, lets see what Denver can do against a true NBA contender later on tonight.

Denver and Houston are fun teams to watch, no one views them as contenders, but they more than hold their own.

Nothing will be made of these games, except folks with an agenda.

What's fun basketball to you, may not be fun basketball for others. I myself personally have had fun watching our Knicks here in 2012-2013. #2 scorer behind only Durant in Melo. Top 5 rebounder in Tyson Chandler. Shumpert and Stoudemire returning. J.R Smith becoming a strong 6th man. Etc, etc. I've had fun watching our Knicks fight for our Atlantic division for the first time dating back to 1993-1994 (19 years). I've had fun watching our Knicks contend as the current two seed, something in which we haven't done dating back to 1993-1994 (19 years); which is head into the postseason as a 1-2 seed.

The Rockets and Nuggets on the other hand? Fun to watch? I'll agree to disagree. Mike D'Antoni basketball with those two teams, which means at the end of the night? They can not keep teams off the scoreboard. Only the Kings allow more points per game when compared to the Rockets and only the Mavs, Bobcats, Rockets and Kings allow more points per game when compared to the Nuggets. Nice offense is good to have, but watching my teams give up over 101.8 points on a nightly basis isn't fun basketball. Not for me it's not.

Also, while our Knicks lead the league with only 11.7 turnovers per game, the likes of Houston ranks dead last in turnovers. The Nuggets rank 25th...

Both the Nuggets and Rockets are horrible at keeping POINTS OFF THE BOARD and both offenses turn the ball over like crazy. That, to me, is not fun basketball to watch.

Well for one, this isn't a Knicks related thread....no sense comparing the nba games outside of such with them.

If you really think both those teams run D'antoni ball, you clearly do not watch them.

Dont be fooled with high scoring and threes.

A revved up score is always fun to watch, but if you dont like it, why you in here talking about it...just dont watch.

Which I am. Just giving an example of what's been fun to me. And this isn't the "other games thread" it's the freaking Houston Rockets, Denver Nuggets and every other ex-Knicks player thread. Save the crap for the fans who can't read between the lines.

But yes, in regards to Houston and Denver? Not fun basketball for a fan such as myself.

They can not keep teams off the scoreboard. Denver's 26th and Houston's 29th out of 30 in points allowed. And both teams struggle protecting the basketball on a nightly basis. Denver's 25th and Houston's dead last at 30th in turnovers committed per game.

That may be "fun" basketball to you, but it's not to me.

this is your agenda. ultimatemelo.com carmelo is not fun to watch... except for you.... try watching other teams, you may enjoy what fun basketball is... the knicks would be fun to watch if they actually functioned as "one" instead of 1 dude and 4 other guys..

Zero consideration of pace.

Denver is 15th in the league in turnovers per 100 possessions. Houston is understandably going to be turnover prone with their top 2 backcourt players being fairly new to their roles. Oh and young.

And if you value defense so much, what is so enjoyable about watching Melo?
