BlueKnicks......The Smiths song was a great find! Forgot about that one!

Curious going forward if Cavs are inspired that they had built that lead after being down in the first half. Quite remarkable actually. That or dejected from blowing it in such an empic fashion?

Yessir, Smiths and early Moz records are still great even if the man himself has been found lacking

KAT pissed me off, why are you grabbing the guy by the arm? Are you trying to throw the game? Stupid, dump, retarded. Did it twice too. Double retarded. He played good defense tho, like really good.
Mitch....he really hurt us. I understand that he cannot shoot free throws and we haven't figured out how to hide that. Whoever is working with him on free throws should be fired or Mitch is just a stubborn *******. It's one or the other. No other explanation why there is no arc on that shot. Zero arc and zero explanation. If he shot it the proper way and missed, I could live with that. What he is doing is not forgivable. Even the announcers we saying how we cannot get into a rhythm if he is going to the line every time. I want him off my team, I hope we don't extend him. Oh, oh one last thing - wtf was he doing trying to dunk that ball when he caught it outside the paint? Just grab that, gather and go up strong. Fuck.

I don't like this brand of basketball, going all ISO Brunson to save our asses from blowing G1 at home. The reason why we were down was because we forgot how we played the last 7 games. If this continues and we don't go back to our brand of basketball we are not winning this series. I don't want to see the greatest come back in Knick playoffs history ( it was) I want none of that. I just want a solid game. Passing, cutting. Is that too much to ask?

Shamet and Brunson got the run going and the rest of the team took them into OT

You're correct. This kind of victory needs to be a one-off. It is not a path to a championship. Back to basics.

I repeat:

Pley better defense than your opponent and you win.

The offense tends to right itself when the defense is locked in.

I like the sentiment, but let's be honest, in this game the offense was really the problem. The shooting was not just off, it was abyssmal. Air balls and bricks off the rim and backboard. I haven't seen them shoot that badly all year. Hopefully, it was rust and we won't see it again.

Relax, Just because Landry looks the part embracing local attire on a day it was probably over 100 degrees does not mean he is a terrorist.

That never entered my mind until you said it

Do you think that's what other people think when they see that picture?

Better man up. You've got to get past Mobley to face Wemby or Holmgren who are even more spidery

I don't think either of us are wrong, because BOTH the offense and the defense were the problem.

And I think I am correct that the usual path to success in the playoffs is superior D.

Just because our offense was rolling in previous games, don't let that obscure that our D was better as well.

Defense tends to dictate games and your success on offense usually mirrors success on defense.

You cannot rely on offensive heroics alone to get to the Finals. Our run last night was triggered by Shamet's defense and then Brunson's outburst.

Nobody wins a ring in the NBA without being locked in defensively the majority of the time.

Heroics will pull out some games, but better defense is what makes up for any blips in your offensive production the rest of the time.

The games since Game 4 vs. ATL have been both defensive/offensive showcases. I am certain the offensive production we had until this game directly correlates to being strong on defense.

Mike Brown had to learn the hard way with Shamet, Deuce, Clarkson playing backup PG in game #2 in Atlanta.

Still learning on Hart.

PhilC commented on the photo and thats my reaction to his post of "Uh Oh"!

"The Smiths", great band! I really liked Johnny Marr's work with "THE THE" after he left. Actually big fan of Matt Johnston. Saw them live in Durham NC last year and was incredble. His first work in over 10 years was really fantastic/played well live as did some classics. His voice has improved with age and has a deeper effect.

Moz really has become quite unreliable over the years! LOL

Sure, but I'm assuming you're talking about your own nipples otherwise I'd say no that goes too far

he's afraid to shoot so teams know they can sag

Shamet on the other hand shoots even if you fake a pass to him, so teams need to play up on him more and it helps spacing. And regardless he hits at a better clip

love Hart but Shamet and Clarkson need to play more. They have the cajones and deliver. McBride and Jose need to be dialed back

It's funny, but when I watched the Roommates podcast from last week, Josh seemed the most concerned about the long layoff and didn't like it. There were a few times last night when he was in close (and sometimes open) and opted not to shoot but to kick the ball back out.

it's great that this team has so many weapons and so many different ways to beat you, but it amazes me how Hart is still routinely underappreciated here.

I knew Shamet was going to have a key role in these playoffs before it was all over. Love that guy.

I was actually in Abu Dhabi couple years ago and have been to that Mosque. I’m just trying to not offend the freedom fighters here.

Shamet has made a ton of money for himself last playoff series and again last night.

IDK about that. He can play, what he's doing it not new, but he's never been able to carve out a bigger role and has never really been a hot commodity. Hard to point my finger as to why, but I have a feeling he comes back at vet min next season. His vet min is almost $4m per so it's actually not too bad for him.

remember he had to accept a non guaranteed vet min invite this summer, and he's had seasons like this before. I think he loves NY though and stays.

I agree with Phil that Shamet has increased his payday considerably. He's mature, poised and rises to the occasion -- that last point has super value to any playoff team because a lot of players unfortunately wilt.

On the flip side Mitch is hurting his value immensely because his poor FT shooting and hack-a-mitch are big deals for playoff teams. It's not like he needs to shoot it at 70+% either.

McBride IMO also hurt his value. I know his advanced stats are great but he has been a huge dud in this playoffs other than Philly game 4. He is a liability at pg, and I say that wishing it weren't so. He just dribbles the ball for 6-8 sec, realizes he has no idea what to do with it, and then passes it like a hot potato. He is a small 2, and even then he can't create off the dribble. I love him but his price IMO is very limited. Small super streaky shooter, and not the great defender he used to be.

I do believe your on the right track. , Landry been with 6 teams in 8 seasons. Has 109 starts out of 449 games and has avg'd 21 min per game and career avg. just over 8ppg. Is 29 years old having an avg season for him this year.
A really nice success story BTW and seem to enjoy NYC. Career earnings about 30mm one has to hope he been smart about it as he appears to be a thoughtful guy enjoying photography in the Mecca of many things culturally.

Personally I really hope we can keep him but depends on his market and he should chase financial security if so offered. His girl appaers to have a NY based career and perhaps he and Knicks can find a middle ground to be mutually beneficial. Last night he had a good run with great defense and 3-3 from 3pt. I'd think a two year with a team option for year two? At the same time are we ready to promote some yoot into the rotation? Trades? Free agents? Draft all will play out. Crazy thing is there are just 4 teams left and the whole league including them are pondering it all. Those 4 are still writing their stories!

Fans often see the obvious but the really the brilliance is not apparent. ihart? Young journeyman center. Mitch? Disregarded 2nd round pick? shamet? From teh scrap yard. Brunson? Underregarded talent. All teams make mistakes and things unfold in strange ways. Those who are not afraid to be bold succeed which means being able to digest the misses and keep moving forward.
