Knicks beat Cavs and Briggs’s Kiss of Death (TM)

Briggsy puts his money where his mouth is though. He’s on a winning streak.

Briggs had Cavs 4-0.

Miami 4-0 too

Yes - I saw that as well.

we destroyed the Cavs and shot for **** in every game. We got one good game from IQ. Nothing from Grimes. Spotty at best from Randle... how is Miami going to keep us off the offensive glass?

Feel like they are going to need to duplicate the 45% from 3 and 52% over all they shot vs. the Bucks to hang in these games. I just dont see what they did vs. the Bucks as sustainable.

DMitch asking out can be a real thing sooner than people think. His deal is coming up to a player option soon. The Cavs can't afford to lose him for nothing. After next year he will be in the last year of his contract because of a player option he will definitly decline. Him being a possible UFA gives him power to chose his destination because of the threat of them losing him for nothing. We all seen how losing Brunson for nothing hurt the Mavs.

While I like Mitchell and think he's a difference maker, he's a really tough fit for most teams since he's extremely undersized (6'1") for a SG.
I think you can play him at PG for stretches within games or even stretches of games, but like Quickley or even Steph Curry, you probably want another high quality ball distributor on the team so he can go off and do his scoring thing.

I think of him as the modern day Iverson - you don't worry about defense so long as you have a big PG next to him. Let's say Josh Giddey or healthy versions of Simmons or the Ball brothers.

So two ways to work with Mitchell as a starter:
* set him off as PG, then you can have normal size balance and play big wings with him. Plus you need another playmaker on the team so he can score.
* use him as a SG (his preferred offensive position), but get a big PG (think Giddey, or healthy versions of Simmons or the Ball brothers) so you don't have the little backcourt dynamic that ultimately hurt the Cavs vs the Knicks.

Mitchell is a better offensive player than RJ or Grimes. But the size is a big headache that you need to solve for. I think a lot of things would need to work out right (including Mitchell finding a way to work his contract on to the team) for him to ever be a part of our crew.

100%

Jimmy will win them a game or 2. If the Knicks had a healthy roster, both Cleveland and Miami could have and may be toast.

Which is totally wild to type.

My worry about the heat is that they are shooting the best from 3 this playoffs. You know how good 3pt shooting teams kill us. Hopefully they cool off. Lowry and Jimmy are floppers. Jimmy will get some of our players in foul trouble because of how good of a whistle he gets. He shot like mid 20s fts in his big game vs the Bucks. A new wrinkle we have to plan for is point Bam. Point Bam is what killed the Bucks at the end of the game. Brook gave him too much space to operate and he picked them apart with passes. I could see Mitch doing the same exact thing.

My worry too. iHart does a decent job covering the perimeter, but you lose Mitchell 's offensive rebounding and shot blocking. It would have been nice to have Sims around to body Bam for a spot minute or 2.

I think we have solved that problem with the emergence of Big Mitch. All our perimeter players are right on the chest of the Cavs perimeter players knowing that if they get beat off the dribble, Big Mitch is there to erase everything. I mean....Laverts 3s were mostly contested 3s.

Ha... just posted that in the poll thread. Getting Grimes back AND knowing Hart has some success vs. Butler is a great start.

I love and think the key is Mitch/JHart/IHart on the offensive boards vs. the Heat team. I expect us to murder them on the glass. We'll see tho

Listen to this Cleveland sports show talking about how good our roster depth is that even when Randle gets injured Obi can come in and drop 12 in a quarter.
