they really have become the Dallas Knicks. If Karma exists, then we nab their pick at 11 or 12, and we draft a future all star that helps Brunson and the knicks go on a 10 year run of play offs and three championships.

Can we count on the Spurs to beat the Wolves over the weekend or is that asking for too much? THE Spurs did beat us after all and helped to derail a 50 win season.

Does anyone know the last time the Knicks had any significant luck in regard to draft positioning? Am I wrong about my belief that for most of this century we either regressed or remained in our original pre-draw position after the final lottery slots were chosen?

(Not sure about the early part of the first decade.)

KP draft maybe. It was significantly lucky in that they would've taken Okafor of the pick went higher.

My man Malaki has been coming on strong aat the tailend of his rookie season. I think we can hold out some hope that Spurs can steal a game away from the Wolves the make playing race interesting.

A fun fact about this Dallas pick race is okc and Dallas both play their final game on Sunday and at the same time. It means that if Dallas can beat Chicago tomorrow than they really do have to ride this out and try to beat San Antonio regardless of whether okc wins both games or not. If Dallas wins both games then they will ensure a better record than Chicago regardless of the play-in race. I believe the only caveat would be Chicago needs to lose in the play-in and not make the playoffs. If they get eliminated then Dallas gets 11th best lottery odds even if they miss play-in.

I thought about that, but we still dropped to 4. We were lucky, as it turned out, but Min was 16-66, and we were 17-65, and we couldn't catch a break & move past the Timberwolves. We also beat a 60 win Atlanta team, which played many of its starters, to screw up our record in our second to the last game.

Frustrating.

Effin' Utah! Luka Samanic tried, but he just can't win with those cats. Shout out to Kris Dunn, who actually came to play. Another reason why Danny Ainge can eat a d@#k.

If Dallas beats Bulls on Fri - does that get us to 11th (at least pre-lottery)?

But not as frustrating as the Knicks' 2017-18 season. I am still sore that they Knicks did not do a more concerted effort to tank and have a shot at Doncic. I still think that had he joined KP in NY, as opposed to later on in Dallas, it would have been a very effective partnership.
Dallas pulled the plug on KP too soon.

Yes*

*To hold the one game lead, Dallas will still need to beat SA afterwards (assuming Chicago wins their final game against Detroit). Otherwise it'd turn into a coin flip.

Chicago would also have to lose one of the play in games. If they win both games and qualify as the 8 seed, they would fall out of the lottery.

Yup this is spot on. It has really become a tough situation for the Mavs from a scheduling standpoint seeing how beating the Bulls is both necessary and harmful to them.

WOW - shame on Mavs having both Luka/Kyrie and not wanting playoffs and league is kind of a disgrace with all the sitting and purposeful losing.

I think I read that bulls are sitting a few guys as well —- could come down to Frankie Ice and Theo to save the pick
