It could get very messy in lots of different ways. If the election isn't delayed, Trump recovers but not for another few weeks, then he cries that the result isn't legit because he was out of action and falls back on what was his tactic anyways. If he's ill for the entirety of the election and it's not delayed, does it look weird to have it go ahead on schedule? (genuine question, because I'm really not sure)

If it was reversed and it was Biden who was ill, would I be calling for a delay to the election? Would I complain if it went ahead while he was in hospital for the last month of it? Maybe?- it's tricky

No moving it under the current circumstances:

Trump just posted a video on Twitter. Talked without stopping for a couple of minutes. Said he wont forget the "mostly bipartisan" support he has received. Said it twice. We'll see in a month..

According to this, there's a major hole in the constitution about what happens if, in the run-up to an election, a candidate dies or is medically unable to serve. https://electionlawblog.org/?p=116098

I was wondering this myself. With all the mail in ballots what a disaster this would be

One is a fascist. Americans fought and died in faraway lands making sure it would never reach our shores. We have it a lot easier, we have the power to vote one out of office before its too late.

He has a record now, dont ignore it.

IF you tell us your not voting, then your open to comment.
While I might not agree, I’d respect it more if you voted for trump. At least you voted.
By not voting your hypocritical.

That’s pretty much how he won last time, granted that election was as bad as this one.

The ignorance you display around any of this is jarring, it's also the reason you voted for Trump in the first place and how pathetic that was and still remains

You withdrew lots of cash to have it on hand and are hiding in your basement. These things literally have consequences

Nope. Not voting is honest

Not voting says the person lost me
Voting for the other person despite thinking he’s not all there is no answer either.
So a no vote is reasonable.
We have a democratic society but it seems as if you exercised your free right to vote for ANY candidate you get cast in a scarlet letter. That is wrong. I like the phrase agree to disagree. I see one thing you see another but I’ll respect you as a decent human no matter what.

Briggs I think what many feel is that not voting is not recognizing the danger that Trump has and continues to pose on the country. You have every right to not vote - but it does reflect a difference in perspective. Most people who feel outraged can't understand why others don't view things to the same extent. I feel that way and wonder what would have to happen for everyone to recognize how bad Trump is during this pandemic? Murder caught on video... feel some would still somehow try to minimize and/or justify it - Crazy to me

While I'm not inspired by Biden, I would vote for a rock over Trump at this point... simply because Trump has shown how scary things can get when you have an incompetent leader with narcissistic tendencies running a county. Pre-pandemic - I just thought he was a self-serving, racially damaging/divider that looks out for himself and is driven by a lack of morals. I personally couldn't stand Hillary - but she would at least made sure there was a plan, and taken a position/stance based on scientific experts and citizen wellbeing. The fact that he has the virus, continues to defy/ignore scientists and has not addressed any significant contributors to improving the pandemic (eg masks, testing, modeling caution) tells me that we'd be better off with a rock or a president who may show sharp cognitive decline during his future term.

voting is not about ego. voting is for what's best for the country. by stating you are willfully abstaining from voting means you cant reconcile your own feelings with what's best for the people of this country. i fail to see how not voting helps the country in any way.

there is no equals here. thinking trump and how he's led is equal to any way anybody else would govern is just so perplexing.

let's be real here. anybody conflicted about voting or who to vote for really wants to vote trump and is either faking their undecide-ness or is struggling to find ways to get over how much damage trump has done so one can cast their vote for him again.
