Fiz given guys the quick hook, is going to hurt players more than it will motivate them.

Game 2 of the season will probably result in new starting line up, and if payton come out and has a sub par game, is he going to go with DSJ for game 3.

Ellington is a shooter, but he hasn't gotten the ball in good spots, and barely gets any screens run for him..

IMO Trier look like he didn't know is role in that line up

Pop has made a ****ing lifelong HOF career doing it

There is a fine line between giving guys a little room for growth and the mistakes that go along with it and lazy, low iq, god-awful basketball that we saw from several players last night.

Dudes gotta step up this year, this isn't last years "growth" year

Ntilikina had a VERY bad stretch - couldn't do much worse. His lazy telegraphed passes were not good at all - but I think in both instances he picked up his dribble early and put himself in a bad position. Is the NBA released missed calls this season? I'm curious what they'd have to say about that goal tending on Frank's layup. Whether the ball got the ball on the way up or down, the defender also slammed his hand against the backboard before the ball had a chance to clear the basket. That's potential goaltend in 2 ways.

It was clear, however, that the Knicks unit played with the most poise when Elfrid was on the court.

The full court frenetic defense doesn't work when players get tired, so if that's the brand of basketball Fizdale wants, he'll need to find a way to get his other guards on the floor and keep his starters in the low 30 min range so they're able to give max effort.

Hoping that Fizdale learns something from this game.

He needs to learn to dribble out if he can't get by his man. At the same time, opponents are going deep under the screen which will lead to them cutting off his ability to penetrate time and time again. So until he is willing and able to knock down 3s as opponents play deep under the screen, he will have a hard time penetrating as he isn't quick enough or physically imposing enough to bully through like a Barrett is.

Knicks were up 97-91 with 8 mins left in the game before Spurs went on an 18-0 run. First 2 buckets to start the run was Knox guarding Derozan. While Derozan is a problem for many defenders given the fact that he is an allstar. Knox bit on fakes to easily creating the space for him to get beat. But he also doesn't seem quick enough latterally to guard slashing wings. I def feel he is a PF more so than SF. As will be easier for him to get stronger than quicker, but we will see.

i don’t think he could give Frank a second chance. He was making his mistakes late in what was a close game when he came in. I think Fiz learned who his starting point guard is. I am hoping that we learn that DSJ is still hurt because he can’t be this bad suddenly and he can’t have lost all of his athleticism. I am not sure what to think in regards to Frank. I have the highlight of him shutting down Kyrie stuck in my head. I would love to see that tomorrow but I think he is on a deserved short leash.

Frank first time on the court last night were in the closing minute of the 3rd quarter, when the Knick lineup that were on the court when Frank entered the game had depended a 100% on PG Payton to take the slack off of them on both sides of the court. Every lineup Fizdale put on the court last night failed to do their job until Payton's 11 pts, 2 rb, 8 ast, 5 stls, and NO Turnovers were put in the lineup. Frank was a little nervous when he entered the game having 3 minute left in the 3rd quarter hitting Randle with a nice dime, then hitting Gibson with a clear pass slashing to the hoop for a Dunk that Gibson missed trying to toma-halk the dunk.
Fizdale as the coach should've called the 3rd season Frank over to the side line to talk to him like coach Pop kept doing with his 3rd season PG Murray throughout the game.

Frank isn’t going to be a fantastic two way player like Murray no matter who his coach and how much his coach calls him over when he messes up. Murray s a tremendous talent.

Frank was given 3 minute of playing-time in the final minute of the 3rd quarter last night, never receiving any playing time in the first half of the game to warm-up against HOF Coach Pop Spurs two PG back-court (Mills & Murray) guards, plus point-forward DeRozan .. So what Frank committed 2 turn-overs in his first 3 minute in the first game of the season. Sitting on the bench for 3 quarters, plus not playing in the final two preseason games .. what do u think Frank was thinking? Frank started thinking like KP last night "This coach is insane!"

Payton put Murray on the bench twice last night ….
