I would love for Shabazz to be the final piece of the Rubio / Rose deal.

I'd do DRose for Rubio and Shabazz right now.

If the Rubio deal falls through... we could get Brandon Knight with DRose and the second round pick we have in the draft, right?

Crzy, are you really implying Melo is a good defender? I think that would be news to everyone, including melo himself

I don't think Melo is a good defender. What I'm implying is that a good team defense can be constructed around Melo by someone who knows what they're doing.

Phew. I thought you lost it there for a second. Point well taken. And I agree with you. One caveat: even if Melo is a poor defender I think the coach should insist on consistent effort.

No matter how much we don't like Phil or Mills they're the guys that know the direction they want this team to go and they're the guys that know what players will help us and which ones won't cause we don't know what their plan is for this rebuild.

agree Rubio is a sideways move, in talent probably a downgrade. Question is can he be a better fit? I think you cant have Rose/Melo on the same team. Its like when he was playing with Amare. The ball just doesnt move. KP is a stopper as well, but with a PG who is facilitator we could see much better ball movement, which would also help Noah (if he ever gets back) as well. Rubio also defends on the ball very well and gets bunches of steals.

I think with Minn they can let Rose be an Iverson type and Thibs and work on the rest defending.

I wouldn't flip it. Firsts are getting Cousins, Bropez, Noel etc. If you are willing to give up a first you can get a really good player.

I dont know if I posted this here or not but a friend told me that the word is Rose for Rubio/Hill but the Knicks want a draft pick and thats where the biggest hold up is at.
