Anji is 100% correct. J.R Smith is our second best all around Knicks talent. Key word being 'all around'. J.R Smith to me, is more of a pure shooting guard when compared to Shumpert. J.R Smith can actually shoot lights out when focused. Both are as athletic as they come, but Shumpert is stronger physically/naturally. Which means, I play J.R Smith at 2G with Shumpert locking down the SF position.
C: Tyson Chandler.
PF: Carmelo Anthony.
SF: Iman Shumpert.
2G: J.R Smith.
PG: Jason Kidd.
That makes for a nasty unit. Doesn't have to be our starting 5 either. Felton's our starter with J.R Smith coming off the bench. Melo at the SF with Stoudemire at PF. That could be our starting 5 and I'd love it. But, this unit above? It's something that I'd love to see regardless of rotation. A HOF Veteran in Kidd running an offense in which features two up and coming athletic wing players in J.R and Shumpert? A scoring freak of nature in Melo and future HOF in his own right? Along with a Center in which cean feast and/or clean up down low? It's all she wrote. Then you have Kidd, the same Kidd who can drain the big shot.
C: Tyson Chandler.
PF: Carmelo Anthony.
SF: Ronnie Brewer.
2G: J.R Smith.
PG: Iman Shumpert.
For when we need to go strong on defense. For when we really need to protect a lead and/or get after it on the defensive end of the court. Shumpert, J.R and Brewer will combine for the strongest trio of perimeter defense in the game today. Then you'll have two bulls in Melo and Tyson Chandler down low. Sign me up. On offense, when you have Melo and J.R on the same court? You're scoring one way or another.
