If Grunwald's MIA-act today was to nab Felton, last decent PG on market, who HOU'd need, sans Lin, then ‪#Knicks‬ GM is straight-up ruthless.

Despite my single malt inducedcoma, I thought of this too. Would be very happy if true.

dude, you are like 1 move ahead of every post I make tonight. Right now I am thinking of stopping over in the Great Butt thread here:

maybe he really enjoyed his time in NY and thinks he can beat Lin out for the starting position.

Really, who cares, as long as there is competition. And NY went thru like 3 PGs last season.

Sorry, I have been a 100% behind Lin. Probably overreacting and overthinking. The single malt is good!

Next on the chopping block is Amare.

Based on the INSANE deals being signed this summer Im pretty sure Amares value has surged a little.

This whole Lin saga was horribly managed by the Knicks..By all accounts this kid should be back with this team...I'm not a big fan but wanted him to grow here and see what he can turn into...I really want to know what really went down here...We are way too old too quickly...

IT would be AMAAAZZZZING if the Knicks told Lin to go to Houston and then re-signed Marbury. I would be so fascinated I don't even know if I'd have it in me to be mad.

My prediction...based on the LA-Cle-Orlando trade rumour, Grunwald is buying time for that trade to go down. Also bought time to sign Felton. Picture this...Sign Felton, Dwight traded to LA, Match Lin, Houston left with absolutely nothing. The only thing missing is Grunwald giving Morey the double bird at the Felton signing/Lin matching press conference.

Or maybe Grunwald was avoiding the offer sheet til this deal was done, and now will ask Houston and Lin if they can withdraw the offer sheet (technically not official until we receive it) in return for a S&t- maybe Courtney lee and one of their many PFs? How would everyone feel about that.

I think Lin is gone.

i don't think that the offer sheet works like that. houston can't back out of it.

also, i think you might be right on Lin.

and so does Isola:

Frank Isola ‏@FisolaNYDN

Said it once I'll say it again, if the Knicks were so sold on Jeremy Lin why was Steve Nash the first free agent they called.

It is official once Lin signs is, which he did. The only thing that Grunwald has done is stopped the 3-day clock from starting.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

In that scenario I wouldn't mind losing Lin.

do you guys really put weight into anything Isola says?

Perhaps their first call wasn't to Lin cause he was a RFA and they already told him they would match? Is it that hard?

hate to say it, martin, but Isola is right more than most guys.
