MDA quit, he has no say in the matter right or wrong. He gave up and left it up to the knicks to figure out.

So anything that happens, pointing it out like it was so simple only makes him come out bad. So keep posting it's just this or that, only makes the genius look like an ass for not just running one more set play a game or getting more control.

MDA's basketball knowledge and vision should never be put down. His fatal flaw was his leadership style. It just didn't work here

Some folks here won't acknowledge that he has any flaws which is why we need to move on.

Nobody cares Nix.

If all Woodson has done is changed the playbook from white paper to light blue, NOBODY CARES!!!!!!!!!!

Nobody, not one person out side of MDA ballsohard camp cares.

We'll look at the end of the season and assign blame, but the coach has no say now.

You're missin the point. This isn't about MDA and never has been. This is about STAT and Melo. STAT because he's actually playing like a guy getting paid $100 mil. Melo cuz he was clearly not giving his all. Doesn't matter if it was on purpose or subconscious!!! Melo wasn't doing what he was supposed to do and not playing as hard as he was supposed to play. All of a sudden he's buying in???? WTF! For the guys that just hated on MDA none of that matters, but what if Melo doesn't feel like it again some time in the future? What if he's not getting his way and pulls the same crap???

I don't know. The guy was 121-167. He had this roster and couldn't do anything with it. Expecting people to judge him on a 10 game run when he had almost a 4 year tenure is a lot to ask. This team is too good to be 'trying' to get the 8 seed. I don't think you give up on a superstar yet because your coach of 4 years can't get him to fit into his 'system' especially if has lost at a prolific rate.

How about your Star do his JOB??? Was it too much to ask for Melo to play like he cares. Too much to ask for Melo to be a leader and play team ball, which is not asking him to do anything different than he's done the last 2 games??? this isn't about MDA record here or anything else. Just play hard and lead the team as a leader of the team. That was apparently too much for Melo until 2 days ago. All of a sudden he's digging in on D and playing within the flow of the offense. This is really a shame for a player to make such a sharp turn.

Personally, I never felt the coach did his job adequately and I think the record speaks to that. I think D'Antoni should have left with Walsh and I am not sure why he was retained. He was Walsh's guy and Walsh went out of his way to deflect criticism from him in the media and moved players that he struggled with. Once Walsh left D'Antoni was given a defensive assistant and the team traded their point guard for a center. D'Antoni had to know he was gone unless he produced this year and he couldn't do it. If D'Antoni had a rift with Melo it was just part of his problem. I think D'Antoni has more of a charismatic style to running his team as opposed to authoritarian. I think it is much easier for a coach to just be the authority figure. If your coaching style is relationship based you have a much greater chance of not being successful. Just my opinion but it is part of the reason why I never thought it would work in NY.

one thing to consider about the knicks - and hopefully keep things in a little bit of perspective - no one knows how to play them right now. no one has any idea what their tendencies are or what plays they're gonna run. it's similar to linsanity because they've arrived scouting one team and are playing a new one. hopefully that doesn't wear off too quickly, but it's something to consider before getting too carried away.

of course, i'm just trying to tell myself that so i don't get too carried away. really excited by how well they're playing right now.

Knicks looked like the Miami Heat or Bulls on defense. It was just stifling defense. The Pacers couldn't do anything. If Woody can crack the whip on these guys and keep them playing hard there's really no limit to what they can do. This kind of pressure was always something that we thought they had the potential to do if they ever really took it seriously. This could really be legit. We saw a glimpse of it during Linsanity, but now they have even more depth.

Yeah Melo will just accept his role scoring 12 PTA a game in 30 point blowouts. Hope is not a strategy guys. Melo will sulk again soon and Woodson will go ISO and MDA style team ball will be history. Let's check what the team spirit looks like then.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Really? Is that your expert analysis of the situation? This post doesn't really add anything salient to the conversation. It's clear to anyone watching that this team has picked up it's effort level several notches. The starters NEVER played this hard to start games. They certainly never came out for 48 minutes and played this hard. With no practice they came out against the Blazers and played hard. Then with one full practice they did it again. It's certainly not cuz they went and completely changed everything. It wasn't that MDA wasn't asking them to do something less than this. In fact when STAT and Melo weren't there, the team did step up and look like this. The problem was that Melo's fight with MDA was hurting team morale. MDA did the right thing by leaving and removing himself from the situation.

Right on point again. MDA did lose the locker room and Melo was a huge contributor to that unraveling. If you cannot see that you are blind and or completely naive. That is behind us now, but let us all recognize the reality of the situation.

I think you two are naive to not realize in his 4 years here all his teams..regardless of players never play'd hard to start games. It's been a on going problem even before Melo & Amare. Team Energy and preparation is all on the coach. Can't continue to give MDA a pass. He got paid handsomely to make sure his team was prepared every game. Which he failed miserably in.

And lets not fool ourselves and give him credit for removing himself from the situation..MDA was gonna get fired after the end of season anyways. He did a sub par job as a coach here with only some flashes of times it clicked.
