I'm not bashing Hill, he could turn out to be a very good starter for a lot of years. But I don't think he was going to be a difference maker and I think his value would never yield a superstar, unless he was traded on his rookie potential. TMac isn't terrible and trading Hill for capspace this summer will net the team a difference maker immediately... something I doubt Hill will ever be

that would have saved us in 2006... top 5 protection, i mean...

Listen losing the pick in 2012 hurts BUT to have the chance to get Lebron and a running mate of HIS choosing is well worth it.

The table is set. Now it is a matter of Lebron coming.

We're basically giving away 3 draft picks for cap space. 2009, 2011, and 2012. Ughhhh

Hill has the raw talent to put up similar stats to Lee, who wer will also be losing. This is ridiculous. Lebron isn't coming here... he's staying in Cleveland. Why are we kidding ourselves? Wade isn't coming. We're going to have Gallo, Chandler, 2 FA's, and GARBAGE. 5 years of 5th seed coming right up.

Lebron can end it all, he has not...that means it can still happen.

The difference is that theyr're the Clippers? We're the ****in Knicks! When was the last time the Knicks made a good decision? Last championship was almost 40 years ago! The mecca? There are barely 2 decent NBA players who hail from the city. The fans are delusional and full of themselves. Horrible combination

and you're a horrible joke of a "fan" by comparing our history to the clippers history. there is only one clippers an they're in lA, not ny.

get out of here with that nonsense.

It was/is an excellent plan to shed salary and open up cap space for 2 max FA. But it was the worst executed plan I have seen. Donnie should not be GM....just a consultant ...retired. How he could give up so much for so little is beyond me. He should have traded Jeffries last year when he knew he had to get under the cap.

And getting nothing back for Nate? God awful. We gave up 2 1st round picks/players and an exchange of picks in 2011 in the TMac trade (injured player who hasn't played in 1 1/2 years) , and we couldn't get any pick for Nate. Very poor management/negotiating/GM skills. I always supported Donnie on this board but I wish I had the power to fire him. or really make him retire.

And Harrington was a good trade piece and he never got traded.

I have to admit, I love that sports radio is all about the Knicks right now.
FYI, Alan Hahn's about to go on the Michael Kay show on 1050 AM here in NYC...

a horrible fan? I'm a realist, not a member of the lollipop guild. I never said we were the Clippers, just that this chase is pointless. It's a flirtation that has Knicks fans sucked in waaaaaaaaaaay further than they should be. The Knicks have just set themselves up for an epic do or die situation. Lebron or Bust. Anything less wil be seen as an epic fail, and the safety net of drafting yourself to back respectability is now gone. I don't hate the Knicks, I love them... but I am allowed to disagree with their decisions.

They're playing a game of Deal or No Deal. They gave up the $300,000 deal for the chance of 1 mil or 1 dollar. You can't do that in a league as unforgiving as the NBA is when it comes to mistakes.

The Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings and New York Knicks have agreed to terms that will expand the Houston-Sacramento deal into a three-way trade that lands Tracy McGrady with the Knicks, according to NBA front-office sources.

The Knicks will acquire McGrady and Sergio Rodriguez from Sacramento, sources said.

The Rockets get Kevin Martin, Jordan Hill and Jared Jeffries from New York and will have the right to swap first-round picks with New York in 2011 as well as take on New York's 2012 first-round pick.

Sacramento obtains Houston's Carl Landry and Joey Dorsey and New York's Larry Hughes.

Not sure why you would be excited about giving up Hill. He never had a chance in NY and appears to be a kid who let all the trade talk impact his game. In my opinion donnie needed to keep Hill or the pick for this trade to make sense.

he's excited cuz now he can flash his "I Told You So" card & puff out his chest like he knew Jordan Hill was a bust from the get go... alot of that going on around here today i see.

If we can get anything even remotely close to this, I'll be happy. I know he's old, injured and not coming back. But I want to watch SOMETHING this season.

I think the reality of it is Donnie and Mike both felt that Hill would not be a long-term option in the front court and they deemed him expendable because of that. If they felt Hill was going to become a stud, I doubt they include him in this deal. Is it foolish to give up on a prospect this early to clear cap space? Could be. We'll find out this summer I guess.

We got smaller but it's not like Hill was getting significant minutes either way. We had to add another big man this off-season with or without Hill. Consequently, I think they probably felt that we were not losing much by including Hill in the deal.

you know i hate mcgrady, but it will be kinda interesting to see how he plays here. imagine if he blew up like his old self? obviously i know there is like a .000000001% chance of that happening, but seriously. that would be pretty fun to watch for the last 25 games or whatever it is.
