In terms of skillset Gallo and frye are nothing alike but............Frye did show potential to at least be better than he is. But he did not have the mental make up and did not develop despite getting 24 minutes a night during his rookie year. Gallo has potenital but he will have to work hard on his body and game to be a big time player in this league. Potential really doesn't mean anything. He has to work hard to turn that potential into results. A lot of players don't do that, and it's tough to predict who will and who won't.
I just hope that people will like me

looking at points scored and minutes played per game is a very lazy way to gauge development

Three more points and he will tie Lavor Postell's career high.

did you watch the game?

seriously.

lavor postell is no where near the talent level of gallo. it's not even close.

exactly....

How about Channing Frye then?

He scored 19 points in just his 6th game.

Isles, the fact that you refuse to give Gallinari ANY sort of credit, even when he has a good game is pretty stupid. I'm not asking you to root for him like you would if he was Jerryd Bayless or something but come on dude.

How about Eddie Lee Wilkins. He had 24 points in his first game. It doesn't mean much we all know how good he turned out.

Wow. Who said anything about how Gallo is going to turn out? I'm talking about the people that REFUSE to say anything good about Gallinari even when he has good games. If you wanna make this into basing his career, jesus, who knows? I don't and you don't.

I'm sorry I interrupted the daily schedule of Gallo ripping. Please sir, continue, don't let me get in the way.

"It doesn't change much," Gallinari said of the pain. "It is still there. I feel always the same discomfort for all the games. It's not changing."

Before Gallo checks into games, he stays in the tunnel to perform back exercises or to just lie down. He avoids sitting on the bench, which puts pressure on the lower back and can leak disc fluid.

The Dallas Mavericks and Mark Cuban made the creatively logical move to upgrade seatiing to Herman Miller chairs in the sidelines that are tailored to fit taller-than-average ballplayers. Someone made the choice that players spinal cords might be more comfortable in seats that suited their frames.

Can't the Knicks afford better-scaled seating for players?

I was always a big fan of Cuban's big chairs for the players. I never understood making these giants sit in what amounts to kids seats for them.

Gallo clearly CAN JUMP, but I think one of the things that disappears when you have back problems is your explosion. He was never a great jumper, but when you watch the videos from Euro games, he was clearly getting up much higher and quicker.

Yeah, when you are that young , but have already experienced a debilitating condition such as what he has, it could help you come into more real terms with life and just growing up as a person. Each of us experience things of that nature, maybe not to such extent tho. Losing explosiveness? For just about every player that alone spells the end. Lets see what he does, there are things that could be done about that back.

Very true... and yes, you have to hope that this back injury has no lasting influence on his jumping ability.

Played well in the game tonight vs the Nets. He should have gotten to shoot in the final minutes of the game. Gave the team the lead and they never gave him another shot. Gallinari is playing well and it looks like he will be even better next year. Just need him to get major minutes from now until the end of the season.

MDA needs to take over playcalling. Relying on any of Duhon Nate Al Lee Hughes Q to get him the ball is the ultimate lesson in futilty
the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

Q needs to get exactly 0 minutes and Gallo needs to take all of his minutes or split those with Wilcox. Wilcox needs to play more too.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

The kid isn't 21 yet and has serious back issues, that is a huge concern he is looking more comfortable and more engaged in the offense, but the team missed on two very good players. We can't afford to **** this years draft up. We need a team that is ready by 2010 once Harrington and q are no longer taking up minutes

Gallo's played in what, 23 games now. He's quietly shooting 48% from the field, 48% from behind the arc, 96% from the stripe, and clearly has the best shot selection of anyone on this team. Not to even mention that every time the other team starts to get physical with the Rooster, Gallo inadvertently hammers someone....I'm not saying it's not an accident...I'm just sayin'......

Quick question, seriously, what rookie have you seen in recent memory at Gallo's height with his moves, ball handling, awareness (IQ) and watery shot? I can't really think of one. When you watch him play you don't see a 20 year old upstairs. I really hope this guys back ends up ok, cause he has star written all over him (and he can't even jump out of the gym.) BTW, I know he hasn't been playing long cause of the injury, but he is doing here what he did in Italy for the most part. (Actually, his shot is better now).

If (big if) it wasn't for his tempermental back, looking at what he has been doing lately, can you just imagine the kind of season he would have had? He would have given us more wins. Maybe it's one of those things where we get a great draft pick (think of when the Spurs got you know who cause Robinson was hurt) and Gallo returns better than ever and a great duo is created (we can hope).

Steve Kerr was a hell of a spot up shooter. The 6th overall pick needs to do a lot more.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

Any time this guy scores more than 10 points there's a rush to make him out to be more than he is.
