I wouldn't say defense in the backcourt was the main fault in regard to Pierce. Pierce lit us up because we don't have a SF that can guard him well. Personally, I would have put Ariza on him for most of the game and I would have left Trevor on him (Ariza didn't do that bad of a job on him but Pierce was gonna get his either way). Pierce got his as expected, it was Delonte and Ricky that killed us. While Steph didn't play great at all, he played decent defense and made some key plays even though he definitely would have helped us if he hit more of his FT's. Crawford IMO, killed us the most. Yea he threw a nice alley-oop to Barnes and he made a key jumper late in the 4th quarter, however, there were two times that I counted that he fumbled the ball when the game was essentially on the line. I don't know if he was nervous or what, but he really had butterfingers.

What's the deal with Q? Does he have a bad back?

Lack of rebounding was definitely embarrassing. Anyway, I think its time to move on and forget about this game. We all thought coming into this that it would take awhile for this group to get rolling so we shouldn't raise/lower our expectations because of one game. This team just doesn't know how to win on the road yet and they won't learn that overnight. I'm just upset that this is the last televised game I'm gonna see for like 3 weeks.

Not sure what is going on there, something was definitely wrong with his back and it doesn't look that good since he didn't come back. We really could have used him for the rest of the game.

Q started off hot, I don't know what happened to him, we let marc blount get 19 points, to me, that is the equivalent of letting earl boykins get 20 boards against you..

marbury and crawford don't play winning ball late, too many unforced turn overs..

Oh well, I guess I will watch the hawks now...vs GS.. Go hawks..

Tough loss, but I think it's ok being early in the season. Clearly we have things to work on...

All those people who thought that this game would be "cake":

Briggs, fishmike, MaRbUrYiSaKnIcK, etc.

I dunno how to put it any other way...

"I told you so."

I'm not happy about this fact, but let's be real. This team is going to take time to get it together. Be patient, and I think we should expect tough losses early in the season, especially. We have some promise, as can be seen in game 1 against the Celtics, but the holes -- which are glaring -- will take time to repair.

Let's hope that they do so so we can make the playoffs.

Brown needs to give Frye minutes. There's no excuse not to.

Another thing about Crawford; his shot selection is still poor. I know it isn't going to change overnight, but taking a shot one foot inside the 3 point line more than once is just plain stupid. I'd much rather him miss a 3 than a long 2...

Hold the fries? Dido, What did you promise us?

Mo. T looked good. Guards don't know what to do yet. it will come.

Craw looked good until the end.

Boston broadcast is obnoxious. They love saying "Delonte" instead of "west".

He did play a hell of a game!

Nate needs to find a flow. I am amazed at what he can do, but do we really want him playing this way? He is fearless!

Eddie played well. D is still suspect, but we gotta get used to it. 8 rebs was nice. Big game: 4 fouls in 8min, 1 rebound.

No composure, looks preseason. No surprises tonite.

nalod, what bothers me is that steph and nate seemed to get rattled when they have to create for others, especially marbury, that is dissapointing... Right now I am watching the hawks, Joe Johnson is Composed...

I watched the game and I am very disappointed of the L. I can't believe that Frye didn't play at all tonight. We really missed his scoring, especially when Curry got in foul trouble. Frye should have gotten in the game to put pressure on their front court. Frye is a very good catch and shoot player, he probably would have helped us win this game. Barnes had his hand on a lot of balls, but failed to collect the rebounds. Crawff, well, Crawff was CRawff. Marb had a great game, but our lack of defesive rebounding killed us at the end. We need Lee activated to replace Rose, because he is horrible....

all you guys hating on J-Craw right now need to give it up! He and Nate in the backcourt in th 4th was the only reason NY was in it. The real culprit was Steph in the 2nd half. He showed no POISE trying to go 1 on 5 against a quick, athletic (obvious he didn't read the scouting report) Celtic team. 1st half he was dialed in. 2nd half he began falling apart late in the 3rd. Not to mention not calling timeout after the stl with 2.5 seconds. That was a deflated team out there in the OT.
the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

This will be a long season! If tonights game showed us something is that we are a very talented team not fundamentally strong enough to win now. Boxing out, rotating on defense, taking care of the ball, delivering from the free-throw line, etc.

I admire Larry Brown for coaching this Knicks team. He could've coached a team ready to win the championship, yet he chose his hometown team. This will be an amazingly tough season for him because it looks like every single player on the Knicks has great talent but knows nothing about playing basketball "the right way".

We played so out of control that its amazing we were able to force overtime. Crawford has great talent, but after watching this game, I really wonder if he has a future in NY. He is not a point guard, and as a shooting guard he has such a poor shot selection. Yeah, you could see some improvements from last season for stretches, but he has a long way before being the player we need him to be.

Curry is a monster in the post offensively, but its sad he can't take advantage of his big frame and arms to be a great defender and rebounder. It was sad to see NY allow so many offensive rebounds. This can't keep happening. But anyway, its great to have Curry in NY.

We need a small forward. If we want to win now, we can't rely on Barnes, and Ariza isn't ready yet.

I love Nate!

The answer at SF is already on our roster. We have lee that can actually play that position. he is a much better rebounder than Barnes and should have been promoted to the active squad. We were horrendous on the board...and both Frye and Lee could have helped us..

There is a say with Crawford that he can get you in the game and out of it on the same night. We just saw that today. When he played in control, we were in it, but once he felt that need to shoot a bad shot or the need to dribble like crazy and lose the ball, we were doomed. Marbury did his part playing a solid game in his new position of Shooting Point. This is no longer Marbury's team, they have the talent to win and they will start winning once they play as a team. Marbury did his part, but this team has so much to learn that they aren't ready yet. Im sure Marbury did everything Larry asked from him. You could see the pointguard was Crawford most of the time.

Again, this will be a long season...

I'm really anxious to see what Larry has to say about this game and who gets minutes Friday.
