Truth is Houstons cap situation is screwed for summer 2014 due to all those poisin pill contracts. Guess who will have cap space when Lin becomes available? The Knicks.

What summer are you talking about? Our payroll is 50% higher than theirs

Summer 2015 Chandler and Amare expire.

2014/2015 their payroll is 51K and ours is 75K.
Next year ours is 8K and there's is 15K.
There is no year that we have cap space and they don't.

NY is NY
Houston is Houston

NY will get free agents if we have the cap space BECAUSE NYC > Houston.

That is all I am saying.

Well that's actually not what you said, but whatever...
The magic of NYC hasn't attracted a superstar FA in my lifetime anyway.

You know, for as much negativity surrounding our Knicks from some of these posters, I find it funny how teams such as Denver (Gallo/Wilson/Mozgov/Randolph), Golden State (Lee) and Houston (Lin) all have more loses when compared to our Knicks. But, we don't hear about Denver, Golden State and Houston loses, now do we?

But yea, no mention of Houston losing to the Wizards? Or what about the fact that Houston's only gone 10-13 over their past 23 games? No mention of this. We only hear about Knick loses as if everything is all peaches and gravy out in Denver, Houston and Golden State. Well, all three of those teams have done more losing when compared to our Knicks here in 2012-2013.

In regards to Houston losing last night? It was because of Jeremy Lin too. Watched the entire 2nd half. Houston lost by only two points, due to Lin. Lin only shot 2-9 with two turnovers. Only 5 points and 1 board. Lin may have put up 6 assists and 3 steals but it wasn't enough to make up for his 2-9 shooting with only 5 points, 1 board and 2 turnovers. Now guys such as Chandler Parsons, James Harden and Patrick Beverley did what they could do, in order for Houston to have a chance. But Jeremy Lin on the other hand? Let's just say that his fans haven't posted about it. And for good reason.

There is no way Houston makes the postseason this season. Quote me on it too. Both the Lakers and Mavs will pass Lin's led Rockets.

I don't wanna hear about how tough the Western Coference is either, because Carmelo Anthony is attacked left and right due to his postseason failures against the likes of San Antonio (x2) and LA Lakers (x2). And during Melo's years of the elite Western Coference? The West was much stronger when compared to today. Especially while the likes of Ginobili, Duncan, Kobe, Dirk and Nash/Stoudemire were all much younger and/or enjoying their golden years while Melo was a Nugget. Denver/Houston of today are going up against lots of aging stars.

But yea, Denver's only 3.5 games from the 7th seed and Houston's 3 games from missing the playoffs.

Holy Crap. Do you just like to spew crap out? Did you look at the page before this page? You really are something else. If you watched the 2nd half like you said, you would have seen that McHale benched Lin again. So not sure how he hurt the team. If you are going to criticize Lin then at least say something right. What did Lin last night? He looked tired. He needs to get his conditioning up. Lin airballed another long perimeter shot and overshot another. That's when McHale took him out. His defense was great. Wall could not get by him. Wall did his damage against Beverley which he just basically schooled in that Beverley just bought every fake or cross-over. Actually, everybody looked tired. Delfino airballed a 3 also. The only one shooting well was Parsons. Harden also showed that he is human. You can see that he was fatigued in the 2nd half.

Yes, I posted here after the game. No traffic in the thread so I did something else. So tell me, how many minutes do you want us to stay so you can tell us how bad Lin is so Melo or Felton looks good?

Enjoy the Knicks. Stop hating on ex-Knicks. It's better for you health.

EDIT: I mean...even AnubusADL who is a well known Lin hater even before Linsanity does not get this crazy.

Denver has no Harden type player and they are loaded down with contracts. Atlanta Hawks 2.0.

Actually, Houston still has a lot of draft picks and can sign a max player this summer. This team is 1 more foundational player away from elite. Not sure if Dwight would help them but it's kinda scary on paper...

PG Lin
SG Harden
SF Parsons
PF Robinson
C Dwight

Bench Asik, Montijunas, Terrence Jones, Beverley, Delfino

Future looks good for the Rockets.

Lakers/Dallas game was full playoff intensity today. The 4th qtr was fun to watch, Kobe can just still take over a game like so few other players in the league. And that was with Dirk playing really well.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Good to see Rubio playing well- not because I like the Twolves, but because it gives me hope Shumpert will be able to contribute something before the season is over. Rubio looked awful his first 20 games or so, so hopefully Shumpert starts to to take a step forward in 5 or so games time.

He's not afraid to shoot. It's just when he shoots and miss (twice in a row) that McHale takes him out of the game. McHale is a ****ty ass coach. McHale sat him in the final minute against the Wizards.

Stupid.

Lin is a superb defensive player. Why the hell would you take out your top defensive player and replaced him with a freaking 2nd string player.

Especially when your go-to-guy is Harden. McHale is a lousy coach.

Yup. McHale is an idiot. In the 1st quarter he took him out when Lin missed 2 shots, he totally ignored that the offense was flowing and Lin already had 3 assists. Lin did look a little gassed but as Breen would say, he is just one of those guys that always looked spent.

McHale also did not give Harden a break in the 2nd half. Unbelievable.

Here is a quote from McHale after the Net game. Now we know why he stopped shooting in the Wizards game.

Kevin McHale won’t make the same proclamation about Lin. Not yet. The Houston coach calls his playmaker “a home run hitter,” and doesn’t mean that in a good way.
“Sometimes he’d rather have 29 points and nine turnovers and I tell him, ‘Jeremy, we’re trying to win,’ ” McHale said.

Lakers @ the 5th seed Denver Nuggets tonight.

Lakers riding a 3 game win streak and I personally can't see Denver snapping it. A Denver loss against LAL tonight, and the Lakers would be 6 games behind Denver with lots of basketball remaining.

I see the Nuggets making the postseason, but as a 7th seed and 6th seed at best. One of either Golden State/Utah will end up passing Denver heading into postseason play. Maybe even both. Now the Rockets? I see them missing completely. Especially with LAL/DAL on the outside looking in.

Yeah. McHale is getting blasted in Houston right now for that one. Lin actually shot .545 in that game and only had 3 TOs to go with 8 assists and 6 rebounds. McHale throws Lin under the bus anytime he gets a chance. Never seen a head coach single out a player as much as McHale does with Lin this year.

I love that from McHale...Mchale is part of the reason Boston has 17chips he knows the game. He's trying to TEACH Lin. You gotta stop being so overly sensitive in how he deals with him. You act like a bully walked up to you during lunch time and took what he wanted off your tray, every time things aren't to Lin's advantage... get a grip.

We know you like Lin, we get it.... but try to be objective if it's even possible you can be

I actually don't hate Lin.

Some conveniently forget I didn't like Westbrook or Harden when they were drafted. Neither looked that good to me in college. Harden was fat and Westbrook reminded me of Fred Jones.

I would definitely disagree with you about the Rockets. They have a somewhat easy schedule for March. They will lose some games to teams they should beat because they are so young but a lot of these teams can't run with the Rockets. The last week of March is the toughest but the first 3 weeks are all winnable games.

It's going to be a fun western conference. I see Golden State falling off because Bogut is hurt again I think. Utah is also in trouble. Utah had a little winning streak but they just don't have good guard play. It's like the team that can't shoot straight. They have a great frontline but if you double down from the guard spots and dare their guards to shoot 3s then they are in trouble.

I see the Lakers making the playoffs and possibly Portland making a run at it. I see Houston making 5th or 6th seed. Denver 4th or 5th. Memphis will eventually feel the loss of Gay soon.

Cashing out during the offseason (which he did) due to 26 games during his first two years in the league...

Big Lin fan and I can't refute that, but is that overly sensitive? Lin detractors claim he is afraid to shoot or he is this and that. Just pointing out that the coaching staff is the reason Lin sometimes does not produce.

Also, have you ever seen a good coach do this to one of his players? Popovich was extremely hard on Tony Parker. This was well documented, but in interviews he will never rip Parker. He always took the blame.

Also, I critique Lin when he is not doing good. If you think I am not doing that enough then my apologies. I will be a little better next time.

He doesn't hate Jeremy Lin. He's just not a believer in Jeremy Lin. Big difference. He's forced to play Lin due to Lin's laughing stock contract from Houston's front office. If he "hated" Lin, Jeremy Lin himself wouldn't currently average the 3rd most minutes of any Rocket behind Harden and Parsons. But trust me, McHale knows Jeremy Lin never earned his NBA contract.
