nice win.. lin is playing very well..

I hate the nuggs lost, again to the wizards.. they have to play better defense on a consistent basis... they sure do score enough points..

I thought the Wizards would be a pretty good team before the season began. Then the injuries struck and they stunk- but now they've got everyone back they're pretty good. People were blasting the Knicks for losing to them, but as they showed last night they can beat good teams now- they're not push overs.

I wonder if we would be looking to trade for Webster in the off season with the 2nd round pick acquired for Brewer, or to actually use the pick in 2014 since we have no pick's with all the trades we have used for Felton/Camby/ and Chandler trade
Those 2 GS 2nd round pick's could have came in handy as well that we threw in for Melo
We could have drafted Twolve's Shved and not worry about a future poison pill because GS's pick was an early 2nd rounder that has 3 year's option for deals

We can't do sign and trades anymore due to being over the luxury tax by $4mil. However Webster is a free agent I think. It's about to get really difficult for us to add players. We have the MMLE ($3mil), our draft pick and vet minimums and that is all.

I think the Knicks are really lucky to have a guy like Grunwald in place that thinks outside the box. Getting Prigs and Cope on rookie free agent deals was pretty amazing. Retaining the rights to Jorts, Jordan and Gadz without committing much salary so he could trade them etc.

Gallo with another choke job last night as the Nuggets lost to the Washington Wizards. 2/5 with only 6 points, 3 boards, 1 assists, 1 steal and 0 blocks? Trashy player. But yea, Lawson balled out.

Nice, Lin's feelings get hurt when people make fun that he's an Asian player. Not that that's anything to make fun of. But then, mocks his own cultures bow. You bow out of respect, not for a little dance... What a joke.

he's not mocking anything and neither are they. they are honoring his background, paying homage. there is zero mean-spiritedness in that clip. you are really not in tune with what's going on here.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Exactly. Lin has a great sense of humor. He made a PSA type youtube clip about kids being pick last. In the bloopers real when he was teaching the kid how to play they had this conversation...

Lin: This is how you dribble and go right.
Kid: How about my left hand?
Lin: Who uses their left hand?

Also, if NYKMental is going to equate a fun ritual to people hurling racial slurs before, during and after games then I am truly speechless. And who says he does not respect his teammates? Also, Melo did a similar shake after great Lin plays during Linsanity.

question: did you sit down and watch the game? i didn't see the game. your post resembles someone who just read the statline and more than likely misinterpreted it.

assuming that you didn't see the game i am going to offer a different take:

lawson went 8-20 and had a 53.4TS% which is carmelo anthony territory. lawson also went 0-6 from 3. from the game trax it looks like he took several during an attempt at a comeback which is maybe not the wisest thing to do. it means that you are reluctant to execute. i have been remarking all season that lawson needs to tighten his game up a bit. so even when lawson handed out 12 assists he also didn't orchestrate sufficiently. his .60:1 usg/ast demonstrates this. not ideal for this position on the floor. lastly and most damning is the fact that the other 4 starters took fewer shots than the bench players did. in fact the bench had a much better +/- than the starters which would seem to indicate that andre miller did a better job at the point guard position than lawson.

obviously this is not a complete picture but as i said i am merely offering a different interpretation of the statlines without having seen the game.

A whole year after we shipped Lin out, I still feel like it was the dumbest move ever in Knicks franchise history.

I believe the picks traded in the Curry trade turned into Noah and Aldridge and Eddy was a big salary on the cap at the time.

Gallo played thru an injury.

Danilo Gallinari, SF 28 MIN | 2-5 FG | 2-2 FT | 3 REB | 1 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK | 1 TO | 6 PTS | -14
Due to the fact that he was struggling with an injury through most of this game, it wouldn’t be too fair to be overly critical of Gallo’s performance. If anything, he deserves props for nobly trying to help his team by playing through the pain. All of that said, he really wasn’t able to do a whole lot on either end of the court, though it’s probably more on Karl for sending him out when it may have been better not to.

My boy Beal is on the rise as the Wizards keep getting better. If they can get rid of Okafor and Arizor for some better talent they could be scary going forward. They need a Milsap type 4.

Also, Lin needs to stop being scared to shoot but that will come with time. He had a bad turnover late but he will learn.

He's not afraid to shoot. It's just when he shoots and miss (twice in a row) that McHale takes him out of the game. McHale is a ****ty ass coach. McHale sat him in the final minute against the Wizards.

Stupid.

Lin is a superb defensive player. Why the hell would you take out your top defensive player and replaced him with a freaking 2nd string player.

Especially when your go-to-guy is Harden. McHale is a lousy coach.

Yup. McHale is an idiot. In the 1st quarter he took him out when Lin missed 2 shots, he totally ignored that the offense was flowing and Lin already had 3 assists. Lin did look a little gassed but as Breen would say, he is just one of those guys that always looked spent.

McHale also did not give Harden a break in the 2nd half. Unbelievable.

Maybe so but at around the two minute mark you can not make that mistake in a close game. It is what it is.

Also, they needed to secure a rebound after the FT. And they had Delfino and Parsons in at the forward spots instead of another PF. This isn't the first time this happened. It cost them a game also the other time.

That shouldn't have mattered given the size of those two and Beal. Although, you are right Okafor was abusing Delfino late. I know Smith went out of the game after the knee to knee with Ariza. IDK if you want Motiejunas and Asik on the floor together. Maybe things would be different of they had Patterson or Morris available but they are gone.

Also, when the back up goes 6-9 and plays good d can you really blame the coach. Also, inserting Beverly late is not what hurt the Rockets like I said it was Okafor on Delfino.
