I sometimes complain about the refs and the NBA, but on this series the fix has been so freaking obvious that it’s just sad for the sport. But this team!!!! This team is special with the way they have pushed against the script and just battled and battled until the end. Many said they were about to or simply crying, I can definitely understand. This is really inspiring, considering how unfair the whistle has been.
What a team!!! What an amazing win!!!
When the Knicks wrap this up in 5, I may loose interest in the NBA. I hate all the gambling partnershios the league has. The sport is clearly corrupt. Let's get this chip and I'll always watch the team but with so much less interest in the league. I grew up a Yankee fan and the MLBs and Yankees greed has turned me off and I haven't watched a baseball game in 5 years. There is life without sports.
I've been saying for years I want to win one more time this lifetime so I can let it go and move on.
This feeling has been building for about 5 years since every broadcast was spammed by that douchey guy in the FanDuel ads. The gambling issue is toxic and the sport is never coming back from the cliff it has gone over as a result.
Basketball was a brilliant invention. It is a sport capable of real wonder and beauty. But if being a fan of a team includes having to contend with hyper-capitalist agendas it no longer feels like what's at stake is wins and losses, but bottom lines.
I don't trust anything I watch on the court any longer and never expect quality officiating. It has sapped all of my confidence in the integrity of the league. It does not require NBA head office conspiracies for there to be corruption. In fact, that is the whole point: anyone can be corrupted and that's more dangerous than any mafia fantasies about Adam Silver (but, yeah, fck that guy too anyway). The real mafia is legalized gambling in sports. It requires no obvious collusion to corrupt everything it touches.
Every ref is under suspicion now as far as I'm concerned. It is too easy for dirty money to make an offer these guys can't refuse and there will never be any way to trace the laundered money that gets offered for their services.
How was it possible to call two fouls against KAT in the first minute of this game? HOW? The second one was not even remotely passable as a call.
Same thing Game 3, they took KAT out with 4 fouls early in the game.
First two games, KAT outplayed Wemby, so this was obvious manipulation to give the Spurs a chance to extend the series. Never seen anything more blatantly corrupt in my life.
So, yes, Fck the NBA. Please win this chip fellas so I can kiss off this mafia-enriched by-product of our dying civilization.
