It’s a good point. Should be KAT flaming out there

It's not just that Mikal aren't quick enough shooters. Their range isn't quite up there with Donte's. The defense reacts differently when a guy is threat to shoot 30 feet out. It opens the floor up more. It forces Donte's man hesitate on the defensive rotation. It makes the big overthink whether he should play up more or beeline straight to the rim.

Mikal from 3 has become one of those guys you expect to miss unlike say Kat or Deuce or per above Donte (of course Donte has been sucking it up this year).

This summer assuming Knicks/T-Wolves go out easy in 4 or 5 - Kat for Donte/Julius -- who says no?

As they were winning Game 2?

This team is too unpredictable

I don't like predictions but going out on limb Knicks win both games 1 and 2.

Mikal and OG are also slow starters and struggle to get good looks from deep so when they miss their first couple early in the 1st which seems like every night, it seems to just suck the life out of the team. On the contrary when Deuce rises up the whole building gets an energy boost and if he misses the energy is still there. Something about Mikal’s early misses just seem so deflating. He can’t get going until the 4th Q almost every night.

I think the most Knick moment of the series so far was when we were up 5 under a minute and Hart fell completely asleep and got backdoor cut by Nemhart.

This to me summarizes our play because you can talk about switch or drop but whatever we do someone is doing something wrong and we continue to make defensive mistake after defensive mistake on a TEAM WIDE basis.

Kat's a far more dangerous shooter vs Donte and we can't seem to get him open for more than a look or two.

Big reason is our pace is so slow (partly because Pacers are making lots of buckets) that there is little movement/flow where Kat can walk into some good open looks. For most part he's had to move a step or 2 out to get off some of his shots.

Not making excuses for Kat who is infuriating on D and with fouls and stupid screens (literally could be flagged every screen for pushing off).

It seems like Dante was able to simply stand one pass away from Brunson while Brunson would go to work and get 3s off whenever his guy would show any form of attention to Brunson. Maybe it’s just having a small guard on him or something that made it easier to get looks IDK. But seems KAT requires much more designed actions to get him looks.

Ive also seen a trend on X which basically is saying KAT is one of the worst screen setters out there. I wonder how much that has to do with whatever is going on with the chemistry department. But I did notice a few times that Brunson was completely unable to get a switch when KAT set the screen because he’s not even making contact with Brunsons man to get him any separation. And when Mitch comes in he’s much better at getting Brunson free. With KATs feet he would probably get a moving screen every time if he tried too hard to hit Brunson’s man on those.

I always thought Donte was good at getting himself open and moving again if his first try didn’t work.

And yeah, KAT is not good at the whole screening thing. Knicks went from elite screening in iHart to that. Changes the whole texture and capability of the team on the floor.

Me personally I kind of hope they leave Deuce/Mitch alone so our bench stays strong ---- hoping maybe someone else like Precious/Shamet/Wright and I'd be benching Hart.

Didn't see this - so it's sounding like Mitch --- that would require some juggling after the 1st few minutes in terms of which center sits and when.

Hart doesn’t match up well against faster more athletic players who get their 3 point shots off quickly and make quick cuts to the basket. Thibs definitely took notice and cut Hart’s minutes from 44 in game 1 to 28 in game 2 and now he’s supposedly even considering starting Mitch but too little too late.

Start Mitch take hart out of the starting lineup. Pacers can’t use hack a Mitch until later in the game when they are over the limit and by then Hart is on the floor.

I tend to forget about Hukporti but he could be the answer already on the roster for that 2nd defensive C next season.

You know whats a crazy trade that I think could win us the chip next season? KAT for Dray. Hard to imagine KAT with Butler again but if GSW wanted to reload they would never get a better player for Dray than KAT.

one bright spot with KAT he's getting off 6.5 threes this series. BOS really took that shot away from him.

we've played 101 minutes and the Pacers have outscored us by 8 points total, this series is far from over. obviously we gotta win tonight though.

Rewatched the fourth quarter yesterday and that was all on KAT and JB. KAT's defensive awareness and effort at the start of the quarter was just not acceptable. JB losing Nesmith on an out of bounce pass for a corner three and Mitch helping JB and leaving Turner open for another three were also plays that killed us. Also did not like JB's last attempt. No need for a logo three there and even if he made it, it would've given the Pacers the last shot.

So our stars need to be play their absolute best on defense. What happened in game two cannot happen.

Good way to look at it. Literally in the same position as Boston was.
