I know KAT didn’t hit any miracle shots but he had 15 boards and our outrebounding them was an important factor.

Next series will be totally different dynamic. Two finesse teams each coming out of physical series

Agree 15 when he was averaging 8 in the series and Duren only had 6, and he was averaging 11 in the series. Was a big difference. 5 offensive boards too when he was only getting 0.5 offensive boards this series

Would like to see Cade's final stats with OG as a defender. Think Cade shot 41 pct overall but in the low 30s vs OG

Think OG low key had one of the great individual defense series in Knick history. 22 big points last night too.

Imagine if OG outdoor dribble. He’s deceptively super strong

He has a tougher task ahead of him. He has the opportunity to make an immense impact if he can keep Tatum in check

I'm happy we won and happy for those younger fans who now have their moment to remember. Us old heads have Ewing's tip in dunk in 94, Allan Houston's runner and LJ's four point play in 99 and if you think about it, there hasn't been a special memorable moment since then until last night. So enjoy it! Maybe we'll get bounced in the next round but at least you were able to experience this last night. These moments are what being a fan is all about!

I'm glad this one is over. I really did not want the stress and agony of a game seven! Give the Pistons credit! They earned respect and they are a foe to fear going forward and this won't be the last time we have to play them in a series. This one could have gone either way.

We've been watching Brunson now 3 seasons and I'm still in a awe and cannot believe he plays for the Knicks. Most clutch player I've ever seen play here. The cross over move to put on Thompson to create space and then the guts to hit that 3 was magical. Legendary shot, legendary game for a legend. 40 points on the road in an elimination game! Knew he would bounce back too. He came out ready to play and kept the team focused and composed when we got down.

So much respect to Bridges. He answered the call and came up big when it was most needed. Beasley trolled and called him out and he shut him and everyone up! The left hand tip in won't get talked about much but it was such a clutch play. His defense on Beasley in the second half was also great. I don't think Beasley got a single 3 in the second half. And of course the dunk and scream over Cade!

I thought Thibs coached a decent game after that horrible game five. Team was ready to play and had a perfect first quarter. Beasley was due to explode but great adjustment and focus on him in the second half. The offense wasn't great after the first half and I have no idea why we continue to stop moving the ball when it's working out so well!

We won so I don't want to spend much time criticizing anyone but I was ready to explode here on KAT. He was not good. Like the moment was too big for him. Also down on Deuce and Mitch. We need them both if we have any chance against the defending champs.

3 years in a row going to the second round is not enough for some fans and that's fine but it's still an accomplishment most teams don't do so I'm proud! And be grateful for #11! He's incredible!

FWIW Monica’s radio call credits the “fly by screen” from Bridges to cause Thompson jump and overplay the left side which Brunson used to put him on skates.

I’ve been dogging Thibs all series so you have to give him credit when 1) we haven’t seen this particular action all year up until now and 2) it worked.

Thibs made adjustments after game 2 and after game 5. Give him SOME credit. After game 2 he started hiding Brunson on Thompson on defense which helped us big time in games 3 and 4 until Pistons figured out how to exploit it in games 5. Thibs made adjustments after that because we rarely saw any high low baseline dunks from Duren to Thompson last night.

Also I rewatched the last couple mins and Josh Hart’s help defense was REALLY good on our last few defensive stops. Those stops were all schemes the way we navigating the Cade PnR and rotated the help. So give Thibs a little credit where it’s due. I don’t think he’s right for this team going forward but he had some bright spots in this series along with some sour spots.

I will say about Mitch, his impact is clear, but it's also clear he's just not in rhythm, he hasnt played much this season. but he's a guy you could see being the missing piece on the Lakers team, and then us wondering why we let him go.

VDesai wrote:Also Thibs did call a great play. Its a ghost screen Ausar loses his balance bc he thinks Mikal is coming and Brunson crossed the **** out of him like he was Bryon Russell. Put rollerskates on him.

So we just lying now? he lost balance because he thought Brunson was going to the wing but he went middle.

Lol

You going to sit here and say this was cuased by the ghost screen? SO Brunson changing direction the exact time he loses balance means nothing?

We get it you don't like Thibs.

Watch the whole play. Bridges starts coming to screen and Tobias calls it out. As Bridges passes by Ausar peaks and starts to lean and Brunson begins his cross and Ausar is already on skates.

Its a well designed play, but you wanna talk about Cade's hot potato toss to Beasley

You really standing by this? This ain't even about Thibs anymore. I am just amazed that you really think that was caused by a ghost screen. if ghost screens works so well why don't we just throw ghost screen everywhere and have eveery defender get off balance so we can drive to the hoop.

Looks like Wally just highlighted the screen action on the MSG post game show as how Brunson is able to create the space so Ill stay with it.

I'm just gonna try to enjoy this win without worrying about agendas. Peace.

Well Wally said it so it must be true. You want to play that game? I can play it better. Lets listen to what the man who did it said himself. The same man that Covers for a lot of bad coaching.

Let me quote him you can both read and and hear it. "... He beat me to the spot. He cut me off. I just went back the other way and then I found a lot of space..."

I have no agenda here I say what I see which is why I also have no problem giving him praise like I did after game one. People making up stuff that did'nt happens to defend a bad coach is the real agenda here. Brunson does enough to cover up how bad of a coach Thibs is. No need to add lies to it. Give the credit to the person that deserves it. Brunson.

Dude you literally came on here, after we won a clinching game, to tell us how bad Thibs is by citing the play design of Cade's hot potato to Beasley. Then when its pointed out that the Knicks scored off of the timeout on a designed play where the false screen helps Brunson put his defender totally off balance, you completely eliminate any credit for the coach. You have one view you are trying to perpetuate here - against the coach. Perpetuating a single ideology is the definition of having an agenda.

So because we won the game I am to ignore our flaws? You see we have a whole season of proof I have no agenda against Thibs. I was defending him all last season. Little did I know it was the roster hiding his negatives because once iHart was gone they came back in full force. Like I always say I say what I see. This year Thibs has been bad. It's not an agenda to point out the truth. Just like when he made good decisions in game 1 I praised him. You like to ignore that though. It's cool, you are good with these 2nd round exits but they are not enough for me. Running it back next year with the same trash offense and defense that gives up wide open 3's the most in the league does not seem appealing to me.

it wasnt trash... 2 new starters and it was very good most of the year. The problem is really obvious. YOU have decided Thibs must go and it's literally all you see right now. Every game. You can get past your own bias at this point. Nobody is satisfied with 2nd round exits. Some understand there's a process and a couple 60 win teams ahead of us right now. Hopefully you can enjoy. Thibs is gonna be here next year.

Thibs isn't maximizing this roster I agree, but I don't think he's the problem either. I start to see more and more it's KAT's defense and just clumsy offensive game.

Let's give credit to Ausar for being faster than Thibs planned screen, which would have wasted more time for a forced shot and was not a ghost screen. But ultimately the main credit goes to JB Smooth who called an audible and sunk that C4 explosion down Detroit's throat. Humble pie to their players, coach, fans, play by play haters, refs, and smeagol I mean Silver.

Thibs need to go. This defense should be elite and offense competent. Plays out of timeouts should be focused and make sense. We overcome with talent that more often than not, wins despite poor planning. JB is just that good, but he doesn't need to work this hard as a man on an island to save us. As gritty as the Pistons are, they are not on the same talent level as the Knicks.

Pick up a Schroeder and Beasley for our bench and we enter tier 1 contenders. Move Mitch and Deuce for a Kessler type. In the end, we won, which is an accomplishment, yet not enough going forward. I think the future is bright and proud of my team. LGK4life!

KAT fouling out was huge. Duren is trying to box out Mitch and is out of the position and Mikal sneaks in. Mitch then makes a huge defensive play on Cade's shot the other end. Mitch in the last min makes a big difference.

Mitch was brutal - what were you watching??

Ugh I still haven't watched all of the losses and didn't catch last nights game so I'll start there.

I'm super curious to see how Leon handles this offseason and if he continues to build around Brunson and KAT or deviates.

The 3 guys I'd guess are untouchable are Brunson, Hart, OG.
