I just dont get the panic... I guess I am old cause I still remember Ewing playing 38-40 minutes a night for 82 games followed by 40 minutes a night in the playoffs and being a big 4th qtr player. That was the culture. You didnt sit or want to sit to stay fresh, you wanted to be out on the floor.

We traded some depth and lost a couple guys. That leaves us thin.

Bottom line is we won the game in the 1st and 4th qtrs because our starter are much better than the Pacers. OG also didnt have a good game at all until the 4th when he did his thing.

You are spot on regarding Jordan Brunson. His ability to get to spots and get a shot he likes is getting at that level. These numbers are insane. 6-10 fgs, 8-8 fts, 21 pts and +13. All in the 4th. They should have rested him! That's on Thibs!

If McBride or Precious or Mitch get hot/impactful their minutes will happen. It's not like the coach and players are running around with synchronized stop watches

In principle i like the idea of Burks on TJ and Precious on Obi, but the coach has to read the game and see who is getting sh!t done

Thibs has proven he will ride the bench when they are going like he did a few times with Deuce, and with Bogie, and with Precious in round 1. But he isn't gonna lose the game to save the starters a few mins of rest.

like i said last night it had to be a situation where the Knicks were advocating for that and who knows maybe the refs even told Turner to watch it, that it was getting to be too much to ignore

it has to have been something like that because the whistle was quick like they were specifically on the lookout for it. ANd it wasn't just the knee. It was the step with his right leg was late, then the knee and then the slight shoulder. Nothing Miami-esque but i wouldn't consider that call in a vacuum. He sets a lot of screens and i suspect there was a lot of bitching about them during the game etc

It was the right call - it won't be included in the L2M. It was reviewed and upheld. It was a ****ty time to call it, and there is an unspoken rule to not make those types of calls with game on the line but nobody can say it was not the correct call by the letter of the law.

Turner never for one second stopped moving. Never planted. Ever. I get they dont call it but I thought it was pretty obvious.

Ya you can’t screen like a pulling guard in football. It was the confirmed correct call and Dante sold it well.

I think they can get away with throwing Burks out there - off the ball - and see if he can hit some pull ups and help keep the bench afloat. If it's not working pull the plug and he doesn't return in the second half most likely. That's basically what they did with Precious last night.

But so good to get the first one! The winner of game one between these two have gone to win the series 100% of the time! I cannot believe Brunson is on this team. Never my wildest dreams did I ever EVER expect to have a player this good. He is doing Jordan type of stuff! This is the equivalent of us getting to sleep with Jessica Alba LOL! Down 5 going into the 4th, I said it's Brunson time. And delivered! 21 points in the 4th! And he hit all his FTs! He needs to be a little more careful with the turnovers though.

Are we sure Hart is on steroids or performance enhancements? How is it possible to play all 48 minutes almost every single game and not get tired!! He is the best rebounder I've seen since Rodman! Crazy what he is able to do at just 6'4"! An offensive rebound is most demoralizing play in basketball. It swings momentum and just kills the other teams spirit. And his transition baskets and threes have him a star!

DVo with another game winning 3! And his defense on Haliburton, held him to just 6 points, was outstanding! I liked that he took it to the basket a few times too. These Villanova Knicks are a trio for the ages! Just think there is a 5-18 year old watching this team right now and they are becoming fans cause of what this team is doing!

I wouldn’t say Siakam took it to him he only had 19 pts. He had a couple flurries when he caught it deep but OG did his job containing him.

Carlisle and Hali were pretty diplomatic about the refs I was impressed. They deflected and said it’s not about the refs. Turner bitched about it.

felt like a big 19 though, he was very efficient vs OG. had like 4 or 5 buckets right on him one on one. Was surprised, maybe knowing him so well from TOR days benefits him
