That's Randles personality on and off the court. He sounds like a rotational player, not a star or the best player on the team, and definitely not a Leader.

I think he's a solid player given the right role

Think how valuable he would be if AD and Lebron was in the starting line up with him, or Lillard and CJ...Westbrook and wall.

When he's your best player, your not that good of a team.

How does one "sound like a rotational player?" Just wondering!

LOL. 1248 hears what he wants to.
Randle says all the right things but his delivery is uncomfortable.
Hs body language is “fidgety”. You can hear the “Turnovers” in his voice?

The delivery is more important than the message.

+1
He looks like he's in a hostage video, not making tens of millions playing basketball. I realize all press are scum, but does he has to constantly look like he's overheard Leon's trade talk calls?

True +1!! The clip of him on the Pels is similar but without the Hoodie. HE looked like he wanted to crawl into the shell. Did they not at least to public speaking class at Kentucky?
His message and tone were ok but his body language was awful.

Remember this was also done virtually with know reporters in person.
I can relate just a bit. While Zoom does not bother me among family and friends IM doing Webex calls with clients. I just upped my camera and lighting along with making sure I have complimentary color shirts (No stripes!!!). Not doing anything weird with make up or anything but my home study has a lot of lighting which plays havoc with my eyeglasses. Talking into the camera where I want to talk to the image on the screen takes a bit getting used to. Eye contact is important but so is visual contact. So I am talking to the camera but also have to keep an eye on the images. Thus it can look like I’m avoiding contact or create a subliminal “Shiftyness”. What Randle was doing was so telling he did not want to be there but this is how he normally is. He can play in front of 20,000 people but has anxiety speaking to cameras or reporters? Hey, it happens!
I’m just happy when players don’t use “Know what I mean” or start out each sentence with “Man......” with redundancy. Especially when a women is interviewing them.

Your absolutely right, but he sounds like that in every press conference since he came in the NBA.

If You listen to Kawhi in a press conference you would swear he hates basketball and the media, but that's just his personality.

I just wouldn't make any direct correlation between a player's on court ability and their ease in front of a mic and camera. Some people are painfully shy, insecure, etc. socially and do just fine in other areas of their lives.

That video of D Wade being interviewed while desperately trying not to look at her, still makes me laugh

One of the few times you saw Wade pass up a shot when he's one on one in the fastbresk.

I’ll never forget Chris Duhons’ playa laugh every time a woman interviewed him.

From Newsday, interesting that neither Frank or DSjr are mentioned. Maybe its wishful thinking, but Thibs seems to have mellowed a little. Hope so, believe it would help with FAs. That, and winning more games than expected.

As the Knicks prepared for their first game in nine months, Thibodeau singled out a few players as taking that step forward better than others.

"For young guys, our two young guys, they obviously have a lot to learn, but in terms of commitment and conditioning, they’re really, really impressive," Thibodeau said of draft picks Obi Toppin and Immanuel Quickley. "I would say the vet that has probably stood out the most, there’s actually two, I would say Julius [Randle] is in great shape and Kevin Knox is in really great shape as well."

Seems weird to think of Knox as a vet...

Hmmmm...no mention of Noel...

Taking the Nalodian cynical view of things, is this just some possible code for which vets are at the top of the trade pump?

Would have been funny if Thibs said "All the CAA guys look great".

I think Taylor was genetically modified to be able to pick 90% of the locks in existence.
