Maybe the least dramatic 4OT game ever. (Hard to say though, I _think_ I've seen a 4OT game, maybe the 2012(13?) Hawks vs. Utah game? Maybe I'm just remembering the highlight reel. Well, my memory of the highlight reel is dramatic.)
One take away for me, however, was, remembering Mike Budenholzer is a solid coach. Atlanta's not an exciting team but they have been solid, with a lot of significant player turnover, the last couple years and they played solid team ball tonight. Substitutions were clear/useful, various plays after time out worked, they made defensive adjustments, etc. The Knicks looked lost on the floor at times and, hey, the season is half over. And we have a number of vets. It's not so much that they looked ill-coached, they looked undercoached, just not clear on how to play together. Hornacek's not exactly a rookie but even with a bunch of players swapped out for better players, I'm not sure they would have played much better tonight. Maybe it's just that it's such a disparate group of players, maybe Hornancek needs another year with them. Dunno. Would I trade Hornacek straight up for Budenholzer? Yeah.
