Might not be necessary in the summer league but it will be a different story with the big boys.

The guy is 7-3 he should play 12 feet and in. You ever see Kareem taking 3 s?

His game is way different then Kareem's game. The kid has a sweet shot and will be shooting 3's.

Zingis is not a big......hes a 7'3 wing player with an outside jumper and a soft touch around the rim.....

Porzingis is a 7-3 skill 5-4 who will fill out nicely. He's not quick enough to be a wing nor would u want him to be. I'm not arguing about it because it's an inane thought process. Yes let's make our 7-3 small by playing him 26 feet from the basket come on now
Yeah cause bringing the other teams 4/5 away from the basket is just dumb right?? Come on now Briggs, nobody is saying to play him on the perimeter the whole game but the kid has a outside shot and there's definitely plenty of positives with him playing away from the basket sometimes. He's not M.Gasol or D.Jordan or D.Howard and never will be. He's a PF right now and probably will be for a while except when the other team is playing a small lineup and he needs to be using his outside shot along with using his post game. You don't find players like him very often at all.

Yeah i'm with you on this. I don't know how many times the ball could of been thrown into the paint to him and our guards just looked right past it. You need to get him the ball inside. I loved what I saw from J.Grant last night but he was missing a pass to KP inside all night long.

Much better than the Derrick williams interview, he seemed braindead

I agree. That interview did nothing to help the overall negative reaction to us getting him.
most fans were happy actually. In fact most felt his deal was Very reasonable

I think the problem people have with DW is that he didn't live up to being the second overall pick in the draft and people are still waiting for him to which is ridiculous because he never will. If people can just start looking at him as like a mid/late 1st round pick and expect him to put up those types of numbers then they can see he was a good chance to take for us. If he can give us 25 minutes and a Stat line of like 10 points and 5/6 rebounds i'd be happy with that.

Cole proved his worth in the NBA and Kirk has only showed in the summer league so i wouldn't be putting him ahead of Cole with that.

He had a set position many times and they just didn't throw it in to him and this happened in the first game as well.

Gallo just does not see the floor well, kind of disappointed in his play. No progress seen since last season.

Very true. I see him being overtaken by Grant as the season progresses.

For me Grant passed Gallo 2 games ago

+1

If everyone healthy look for a Calderon-Grant starting backcourt to start the season I would think. Gallo is not a reg starter on a good team. Grant brings lots of tools among them legit court vision.

Afflalo is the starting SG and Calderon will be the starting PG but I am ecstatic with what J.Grant is looking like he could become in the NBA. The kid is impressive with his vision. I think he over did a couple times and passed out on what could of been easY baskets for him but I'm really excited with both KP and Grant.
Gallo is a combo guard off the bench and that's all he is. He's not starter material as of now but I do like him off the bench.

It's been said a few times- the reason Ndour agreed to play on our summer league team was because we were okay with his plans to play in europe this season.

I wonder if he meant he doesn’t want to go the Galloway route but would be okay if he was the 15th man who plays mostly DL but gets the occasional call up?

IF the knicks do not sign him now anyone can grab him later. If they like him they might need to lock him down before he gets away.

You would have to have a verbal, or gentleman's, agreement and hope that Ndour has more honor than D. Jordan, or Steve Kerr.

And Steve Kerr, who did pretty much the same thing but got praised as being smart for doing it.

Fixed it for you.

He's going to europe for a year

I mean what, those plans couldn't change? What if he played well and we had the roster room to keep him? He's looked good so far. Thanasis is playing a step below (I don't think he's looked terrible though) but what if he really showed improvement as well? I personally think we should've held off on the LT/Amundson signings for now and maintained a little more roster flexibility for the time being for guys like these. Why rush to sign these two? LT and Lou would've been there in the end and if not, if someone came along and offered them something they couldn't refuse, no problem--they're each fully replaceable anyway. You wanna talk about good locker room guys, good practice players, whatever -- they're both non-essential players on this team.

I hope it's true and we have a gentleman's agreement with Ndour but if this guy continues to play well for us in SL and then overseas somewhere and some NBA team comes calling with an offer, how does he refuse that to maybe get a spot with the Knicks next year? What if someone offers him a spot right now, before SL's over? Would've been nice to have the roster flexibility to keep him.

It's smarter for him to go to europe for a year- even if they pay him $2 or $3mil, that's more money than he'd get the first year of his nba contract- nice way to make a little extra money before signing a cheap nba contract.

Yeah... I guess he didn't see D'Angelo Russell stinking up the joint last night!!! These kids are gonna look shaky at 19 yrs old. It's not a sign that they won't reach their potential. As i've been saying for years around here we need patience and a sense of perspective in how we look at things.

Cole is the better defender, but there is no comparison in terms of offensive ability.

Funny thing is that Cole was frequently backed down in the post last year. Used to surprise me because I thought he had a stronger base.
Kirk can't block shots as well, but he has the lower body to absorb contact, which Cole did not have.

Lose 10-15 lbs and lower the body fat and Kirk is pretty serviceable. They had him weighing about 270 at the DLeague Elite Camp last year, and he needs to get his weight down. If he does he is a nice guy to have on the bench.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?
