Yea, yet another awful game from Lin tonight. Being exposed as an overrated player. Pretty sure that Houston would have rather went with a backcout of Goran Dragic and James Harden when compared to featuring Lin. Dragic is currently averaging 16.3 points, 7.3 assists along with 2.0 steals per game. Also has a FG% of .474. Lin has averaged 9.3 points, 7 assistsm 2.2 steals with a shooting percentage of only .343%. I don't believe this is a fluke either, Goran has made a name for himself as an up and coming PG. Lin? Only a sample size during Linsanity. Which lasted only 26 games. Now? We're all seeing the other side of Lin. The Lin who lacks experience. The Lin who's looking like a flash in the pan and/or one hit wonder. Linsanity will never be such. That's something that only happenes in New York City.
Hopefully soon, most of these die hard Lin supporters of the offseason will start to understand that we're much better off with a veteran in Felton running our team. A more much prodcutive Felton for more than half the contract of Lin. We're a win now type of team. Lin and his growing pains doesn't belong here. You can't put too much stock into a +/- differential, but when Lin only scores 5 points off 2/9 shooting it's no shocker on why his +/- differential was -20 tonight. He's killing/hurting his team with this type of shooting he's shown. 10 assists or not, if Melo or J.R Smith were to go 2/9 (on a nighly basis) with only 5 points? Theese same Lin supporters would attack their game(s) 24/7.
Did you watch the game? I did. Watched the Laker telecast. Lin basically could get to the rim at will even with Dwight in the middle. He should have had 20 assists in that game. Asik missed about 4-5 layups from Lin passes. Patterson missed about 2-3 open mid range shots. Morris missed a couple of open shots. Lin setup Harden a couple of times for layups and was whacked so he goes to the line. Parsons missed open 3 point shots. Also, Sampson had Lin doubling down on Gasol and Dwight which opened shots for the guard who was on Lin. This took Lin out of rebounding position. The Laker announcers mentioned that they were having trouble getting Lin out of the lane. In the 4th quarter, Kobe switched to cover Lin instead of Harden. Lin still could not hit a perimeter shot but everything else about his game was great. The Laker announcers even mentioned that it was better for the Lakers when Harden ran the point and was just jacking up shots. They said Houston offense looked much better with Lin, and it did. Artest even went old school on Lin and smacked him in the face. Kobe got pissed at Lin and gave him the death stare which the announcers said Lin just got the famous death stare. There was one play that Lin leads Morris for a Fields type dunk in transition and Morris just stopped running. The announcers mentioned Morris giving up on the play.
The +/- differential is skewed in this game. Everybody had a bad +/- numbers for the Rockets.
