I guarantee you we keep Lin.

Felton, Kidd and Lin will all share minutes at the 2 until Shump is back. Not the worst thing in the world to have as many PGs as we do who can play minutes at the 2.

I like this idea. We'll have 4 PGs and some of them will play the 2 guard. Until Shump comes back. Then trade either Felton (sorry Raymond, yes again) or even Lin so we don't have to deal with season 3 of his contract. And we get a good player in return so we don't just lose Lin for nothing.

Good point Knicks might be setting up for year 3 and incase Lin doesn't pan out. If he does pan out I hope he stays. Then 15mil won't be overpaying him

Gadzuric
2016 pick not even sure if we can trade this pick cause Denver has the better of it?
2016 2nd round pick
Rights to our euro players
Jeffries not sure if we have his early bird rights, he played 1.5 years with the Knicks since rejoining late in 2010 after acquiring Melo

next person possible is Iman Shumpert....

We could also S&T any one or combination of Bibby, JJ and Baron as long as they agree to go.

how so? we don't have the early bird rights on Bibby and Baron though. We signed them both to 1 year vet min deals.
Unless the appeal on Novak changed the CBA...

Read it somewhere, maybe Wrong? We have JJ's early bird?

I know, I read it too, but I am just pointing out what I know about the CBA.
Unless Novak's/Lin's early bird rights decision changed the entire CBA for even 1 year players....

Uh no. Its called Lin doesnt want to be here move. He didnt have to sign a toxic deal like that. Pretty sure Knicks would have matched the 4 yr 30 million dollar deal.

Lin just trying to cash in. I dont blame Lin and I dont blame the Knicks. Lin gets paid and Knicks get not be ripped off. Everyone wins.

What makes you think the 4 yr $30M was still avaialble once Morey made the switch? Oh wait - you have been trying to get rid of Lin from day 1.

Lets be clear. If Lin wanted to be here he could have taken what the Knicks offered like JR Smith.

Lin will now be "The Man" on that Houston team and sure to put up stats. He gets to showcase his game nightly and be the face f the franchise. This is a no brainer for someone trying to get PAID. This is a business and Lin isnt stupid.

If you love Lin so much get League Pass. I watch Jennings plenty and he slipped through the Knicks fingers too.

Knicks never made an offer to Lin. They told him to go get an offer first and then they'd match. I don't know if they expected this kind of Deal, but they did in fact tell Lin to seek offers 1st.

ALERT! ALERT! ALERT! THINGS DONE CHANGED.

As for Woody, we have to remember that he is a LARRY BROWN, ball control, anti rookie style coach. Woody is as far from MDA as you can get coaching wise. Lin is an MDA style PG. The way the team is moving is towards a halfcourt slow it down offense and a tough D. I think that is what is going on here. The Knicks have completely gone away from anything resembling the team they were trying to be under MDA. Now they have Melo and so they add Kidd and it starts to make sense. This is why Woody wants Tyson and Amar'e to learn post moves. He's gonna institute a ground and pound style. No more run n gun, SSOL or anything like that. No more Guard penetration, PnR motion offense.

Then why are we bringing in Felton, a guy who put up his best numbers under MDA and then bitched and moaned about the slow-it-down style he had to play in Portland?

Felton played for Larry Brown! Just open your mind a bit to what I'm saying and you'll see how everything is lining up. If they let Lin go and bring in Felton, it's not because Felton played good for MDA. It's cuz Woody talked to Larry and got the scoop on how he played under him. Woody is gonna try and repeat what they did to win a title in Detroit. If you've seen Woody coach you can see he doesn't like letting his PG just play fast and loose like MDA does.

.........What?!

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

Hope that Lin keeps up his Linsanity, then trade him to LAC when CP3 decides he wants out.

HOW THE F@CK DOES THIS LOOP HOLE EXISt?!?!?!!?!? WHAT THE FUUUUCK> I AM FURIOUS. WHAT THE HELL

What does that mean? The Rockets are paying Lin only $8 mil in year 3 but the Knicks would have to offer $15 mil in order to match? I don't understand.

Spears has since deleted that tweet. maybe he was just refering to the cap hit. believe the cap hit for the rockets would be $8M per year $8/$8/$8 and for the knicks it'd be $5/$5/$15

Or they can match the deal and then trade him?

Keep him sidelined like Marbury was, till the trade deadline.

I think we all understand. Now it's Glenn's turn to pull a great move out of his hat and as you and others have pointed out - sign Felton as well as match Lin's offer.

I think some are over thinking the situation.

Knicks are win now and Lin is still a big question mark even if he is healthy.

Felton isn't great but the guy is decent and he will be the 3rd option at best.

He seemed to have chemistry with Amare too.

He could have showed the Houston offer to NY WITHOUT signing it. No one put a gun to Lin's head to sign that deal. He chose to sign it knowing the Knicks possibly wouldn't match.

It's that simple.

Are you dense, bro? The Knicks wanted him to sign an offer sheet to test his market value. If anything, the Knicks weren't aggressive in wanting him back. They went after Nash, Kidd and Felton instead of engaging him.

Yeah, let's say Lin does this. Then the Knicks make him wait forever and eventually Houston retracts their offer. If I've just been on 10 day and league min contracts and someone throws $25 mil at me, I'm signing!

Msybe this is why they are going after Felton to punk Morey and force him to retract or keep like for $25mil

I hope you are right. Letting Lin walk seems a HUGE mistake.

BUT, a lineup of:

Lin / Felton
Kidd / JR / (Shump)
Melo / Novak
Amar'e / ???
Tyson / Camby

makes some sense.

I've maintained all along that Kidd and Lin should start in the backcourt TOGETHER.

I REALLY REALLY HOPE that is the plan.

Everything that I'm hearing is that even with Felton in tow, the Knicks are still likely to match Lin...but they're going to make HOU sweat

If this is true. I LOVE THIS.

teams that might have interest in Lin, even at that deal.

Pacers
Golden State *if they don't have faith in Curry's ankle* Charles Jenkins is a decent shooting PG though.

Yes!
Houston has no PG - let their own 2 PG's go for basically nothing and now nobody to sign. Why would DH want to go there?

If Grunwald's MIA-act today was to nab Felton, last decent PG on market, who HOU'd need, sans Lin, then ‪#Knicks‬ GM is straight-up ruthless.

Despite my single malt inducedcoma, I thought of this too. Would be very happy if true.

Pretty sure Raymond wants to start. He didn't want to come off the bench for Denver or Portland. So why come here cheap to come off the bench. Not making sense.
