mrKnickShot, you were hating on Amar'e the whole game- you do realise that defense is something a player can't really practice when they're working their way back from injury? Give him more than 1 and a half games before you start blasting him. I know he's never been a great defender, but he can be okay (and was playing okay defense before he got injured). You can see his timings off, and more importantly he obviously doesn't want to take any charges due to his back. He's being careful and is a step slow, but he's done a lot for this franchise, so I think he deserves a bit more respect and a bit less hate.

Weird game, terrible ref's, but it was fun to watch.

Fair enough. Lets see what he does or does not do in the playoffs.

That goes for everyone from Woodson to Melo to Amare etc.

Amare's sample size will make it too difficult to judge him in the regular season.

Agreed! Though I think Woodson was probably just as angry at his lack of defense as you were.

that was such a strange game- it seemed like the Hawks were shooting 90% from 3. then you had Teague and Pargo trying to act like Tim Thomas style tough guys against Melo and Amar'e- loved Amar's reaction of laughing and spinning the ball on his finger.

Yeah - that was hilarious. He def has a really good personality and is quite affable.

I could not believe that Woody put him on Marvin for the last play and of course, he went right by him.

Oh trust me my friend he is still a cap KILLER!! Out of five years do you think we will get one full season + playoffs out of him? If lightning strikes, at a high level? C'mon! I like the guy but everyone knows he is a huge cap KILER at this point.

How I dream for a Gerald Wallace swap!!

Gerald Wallace??? Really..that would be a terrible trade. He good but definitely not a impact player like amare and has injury woes as wells.

But he doesn't have to play at such a high level for us to win...We get the right PG and if works out with LJ this summer on his post moves, change his game a little, he can still be a monster...I would love to hear to went to Houston and work with The Dream..We don't need him to be the monster from last year, Melo got this!!!!..Gerald Wallace, now who is joking???

That's alot of "ifs" starting by "if" he plays. And G Wallace fits this team alot better than Amare that does not mean that he is the better player (assuming that Amare plays)

Gerald Wallace??? Ugh, that guy is washed up.

I'm down with stat, but if we did trade him gotta get a player who makes more sense than often concussed or injured Gerald Wallace.

Probably good I am not a GM. I would be making trades everyday just to keep myself busy. Now my billable hours are spent on the UK

Jeffries is a good defender but I've seen him get beat like that before only difference is amare is the only one who could have blocked that shot. I've seen amare make plenty of clutch blocks in his two years in new York.

Yup - he has made some big blocks. Mostly last year though.
