You do realize that were still using MOST of the MDA system and the defense has been the same since day one. Woody and MDA use the same damn defense and Woody has been here since day one. COME ON MAN THINK!!!

I don't pay attention to Melo anymore with or without the ball. My focus is on Lin/Novak/J.R/Chandler/Shump/JJ and Landry. Couldn't care any less if Melo gets traded from the Knicks. If Melo goes, so will Stephen A. Smith. Anyway, we're stuck with Melo so I guess I'll just have to cheer for him.

IMO the Knicks already proved they could win without Melo. I'm glad that he's finally pitching in on D, but really the team has a better record without him and even stat wise they play better without him. My main reason for wanting Melo was his crunchtime shot making, not his middle of the game effectiveness. He's always been a very inefficient scorer. What you hope is that he does the little things like he's doing now so the team isn't hurt by his lack of D and inefficient scoring. That's been the good thing so far is that he's really fighting hard on D now. I hope it continues.

Woodson wasn't the head coach. Also, D'Antoni kept emphasizing that Woodson was a coach not his defensive assistant. Obviously it is too short a time for things to change much but I do think Woodson has a different approach than D'Antoni in his interactions with his players. I think being the head coach he can stress his strength, defense a lot more.

This has been one of the only nights that the Knicks have one without Novak going off in a major way. I like that. I also like that we did not lose anything on D with Melo at the 4 and despite his bad percentage he was helping to create a wider lane for Lin off the PnR. I also like others thought Woodson's use of timeouts where greate and his Subing where spot on. I was thinking maybe more harrelson with Novak at the three but he rode Bibby and bibby did a good job on both ends. He looks like he doesn't care who you are if you mess up you will know. melo and Lin not runing the switch right and he lets them know. Landry getting lose on d he lets him know. Chandler or Stat leaving the man with the ball at the top pf the key he lets them know. he even sat melo and Stat which is great and did not force STAT back in when they were adding to the lead. Smart coaching all around.

Your nutz if you think we would have won a championship with MDA system. We have 3 allstars (former and present) on our team that command respect from other teams. Next year we will have 4 if Lin continues his emprssive play. So what if WOOD is still using MDA's play's. SO WHAT!! As long as we win, who cares? Oh you do.. I haven't seen this amount of defense in the Knicks in years. Defense win championships. Not run and gun offenses..
