A. Nope. Those "braces" appear to be the same support system that Carmelo wears. Nice match.

It takes more than some practice time to integrate two "new" players into a rotation. Baron Davis and JR Smith are still hunting and pecking. Carmelo might as well make three.

Despite all that, the Knicks faced down a highly motivated Deron Williams and a Nets team with revenge in their elbow-brandishing hearts. Chippy does not do justice to the hits that took place.

Missing our best backcourt defender the Knicks played in spurts. Just could not get over the hump with a clutch shot.

Lin has the keys to the car. His leadership gains confidence with every passing quarter.

Miami, here we come.

If only MDA gave Lin/Novak the go-ahead for 3 whole minute to unleash hell & fury on the Nets. Lin to Novak for 3...Drills it. Lin to Novak for 3 again....Boy, Novak gets two in a row!!! Lin to Novak, Novak back to Lin, Lin dribbles in front of Williams, Shoots a 3....Score!!

Lin for a steal passes to Fields, Fields dribbles under the basket, miss a layup, gets his own rebound, passes out to Lin, shoots another 3....OH STOP IT!!! STOP IT!!...LINSANITY gets two in a row to go along with Novak's 2. Time out Nets. Knicks with a 12 point outburst cuts the lead down to 2.

Another reason Lin got better this year. He really put an effort last off season.

The scary version is that Lin is still getting to know Carmelo. Mr. Anthony will need to relearn the joy of the open shot.

The lane to the rack is now open. Drive carefully.

Then, after dropping a cool 17 and 9, Jeremy masters the press conference with cogent answers on everything from being a role model to being guarded by Lebron.

Quite possibly the most poised 23 year old pro athlete on the planet.

the thing that is very interesting to me is the obvious chemistry melo has with guys like JR Smith and even Balkman - he develops chemistry with guys he is comfortable with.

once Melo gets comfortable... watch out.

yeah, fans up in arms because melo is 14-14 last year and 17-17 this year with a rotating cast.

difference to me now is that cast finally feels settled. and they have about a week to practice with the all-star break.

good things coming.

cryzmdups - Carmelo Anthony stats since THE TRADE are old news. The stopwatch recycled the moment Jeremy Lin entered the starting lineup after the Nets game.

Carmelo's officially, official offensive biological clock is two game old.

The big four in double figures, every night, is a tough cover for any team. It does not matter who blows up and drops 20, because they all can - any time they want. The only thing that matters is to take good shots. With Carmelo, his "good shot" is anything that involves single coverage.

Don't ever sleep how beautifully Carmelo Anthony can drive to the rim.

More important, On defense, with his energy preserved... as a by product of NOT having to work as hard for his shot, Carmelo has demonstrated extra effort... and as we all know, defense is about effort.

Life am good.

Another display of the beauty of Lin's basketball game last night. I loved how he controlled and managed the tempo of the game. I loved how he made sure everybody had touches and he shared the wealth. BUT...what really got me was his understanding that you reward hustle plays.

In one play, on a missed shot, everybody was going back on defense except for Amare. Amare was still fighting for the ball and ended up getting the ball against 2-3 Hawks. He secured the ball and passed it out to Lin who was coming back. The rest of the team was coming back and filled the lanes and he could have given the ball to a streaking teammate on the right side but he waited for the defense to commit and then gave a nice easy to catch pass to Amare for an open shot. He rewarded a great hustle play. This is why guys like JJSkinny, Novak, Walker, Fields love playing with him. Dude just gets it.

NBA star Jeremy Lin files to own 'Linsanity' trademark
Jeremy Lin Jeremy Lin's meteoric rise has boosted interest in the game in the US and Asia

New York Knicks basketball player Jeremy Lin has filed to trademark the term "Linsanity", used to characterize his rapid rise to NBA stardom.

Mr Lin filed the application on 13 February with the US Patent and Trademark office.

There are four other applicants vying for the rights to the catch phrase, two of whom filed before Mr Lin.

The player, who had previously been let go by two teams, has lead the Knicks to a winning streak.

Mr Lin's filings indicates the trademark will be used for a slew of sporting good, sports wear and other merchandise.

His soaring media presence has made him a star in both the US and Asia.

Lin is the first American basketball player of Taiwanese descent to play in the NBA.

He was recently named the NBA's Player of the Week, only the second Asian player to earn that honour.

The first was China's Yao Ming, who recently retired.

Yenchin Chang from California became the first person to try and trademark "Linsanity", making his filing on 7 February.

However, a lawyer that represents Mr Lin told Bloomberg news agency: "We're prepared to enforce his intellectual property rights," said Pamela Deese, from the law firm Arent Fox LLP.

She said she had filed the trademark application on Mr Lin's behalf.

that wasnt the only time he did that.. he does it all the time. Twice last night I stopped the game and did a quick rewind for the Mrs to see what I was talking about. One was a Chandler dunk, he contests a shot, pull down a rebound then Lin sets him up beautifully for a dunk off a P&R.

The guy really is MDA and Nash's love child (credit to Nalod)

What he does is incredibly simple, yet one of the most coveted skills in the NBA. Lin gets into the paint and maintains his dribble and his courtvision. From there he either scores on a variety of slicky moves, OR if you close on him he makes a crafty pass to one of our nasty finishers.

I know he's got a ways to go, but he's like a power pitcher with a nasty curveball. Sitting dead red? Watch the legs buckle when I throw the bender. Looking for a bender? Have fun dealing with some HEAR under your hands.

But the BESTEST part? Has anyone noticed that when Lin gets hit in the next 90 seconds you can bank on one of the other players getting hit. Ive seen JJ do it. Chandler MUGGED Zaza blatently after Zaza hit Lin. These guys protect their little general. Its making this fish all warm and fuzzy!
