He can score, but he doesn't have to. His defense, passing and iq is huge for us. Hopefully he can build off of this.

yeah. that's why i was waiting on baron. he doesn't have to be superman, just changes a LOT about what gets stagnant on this team.

if j lin can do it, too, so much the better.

a PG rotation of baron and jlin would be nice.

J Lin reminds me a lot of Goran Dragic from houston (who is really good and was a d'antoni disciple, too)

Lin replaced what was missing at the top of our offense. He was able to run the PnR effectively and get penetration to breakdown the defense. His passing was on target and his court vision is legit. Basically what we've been missing.

that is an absurd statement.

Again, PG or not, he is the man responsible for this team being unprepared to compete on a nightly basis.

really? they didn't compete against boston and chicago? they just surrendered? they competed, man, they just lost because they aren't very deep which has a lot more to do with dolan's decisions than d'antoni's.

I've had my complaints about D'Antoni's coaching, but he has been better lately at calling timeouts when the game starts slipping away among other things. Still believe the Knicks should see how this season goes before making any commitments to extending his contract.

Knicks aren't doing anything different on offense but this is how much better they look when a competent PG is in charge for one night.

An intelligent PG in D'Antoni's pick and roll heavy offense = gold.

This is why it doesn't make sense to fire D'Antoni until he has a decent PG on offense (whether it is Davis or even ends up being Lin).

Kudos to Lin tonight. I've said that he has looked out of control in previous games but he picked his spots tonight and did a great job setting other guys up as well. If Melo has a normal game, we easily score 110 tonight.

Lin needs to get better defensively (took some bad gambles) but he def. showed his potential on that end as well since he played Deron very well at times. Kudos to D'Antoni as well for playing him extensively tonight. I think he has been doing a good job bringing Lin along slowly....contrary to what many on these boards think. Lin is starting to look ready...

His ability to penetrate and score or pass puts a lot of pressure on the defense. He is a revelation for this Knicks team.

Please bless us with more of your brilliance, or wise one. Yes, people should not have been complaining about MDA not playing Lin this whole time. Of course not. And why not or wise one? Oh , its because he played him more than anyone this game. Oh, yes, thank you so much, it all finally makes sense. You contributions to the board are invaluable, how else would we know that "people" should not complain about Lin not getting playing time? You tell all those "people" !!!!
dude relax you sound like a girl on her period. Dude i wasn't insulting you just kidding around. Im thrilled we won. here we come baby

Listen man. Let me count ways in which you insulted me, try to follow along for a minute or two, it should be fun.

1) Your original statement lacked the basic logic and the basic concept of time. To dump this type of refuse onto unsuspecting listeners is insulting. Please think about what you are posting next time.

2) You called me a moron. Thats an insult. If you don't have the capacity to realize that, I don't know what to say.

3) You resorted to insults again when I showed you why your logic fails, sure I was a bit condescending, but don't hold that against me. People who are clueless bring out the worst in me. Especially if they insult me in the process.

4)"kidding around" implies humor, not calling people names. Do not try to pass your insults as failed humor attempts, again this is insulting.

in other words... all we needed was a point guard who went to harvard to understand d'antoni's offense.

Hahaha touché

Or just a point guard that knows how to run a proper PnR

Stagnant couldn't be the more perfect word. Lin kept it moving, specifically toward the bucket and his D was ridiculous. I couldn't believe it.

And I am one of the biggest JJ haters and he played a terrific game as well while Amare was in foul trouble.

Very relieved and the next 3 are very winnable games.

True. For the first time all year, we saw the ball move north and south as opposed to east and west.

I'm glad that someone else sees that too. It's like NY fans no longer understand player development. Just throw guys in there and see what happens. This is the NBA. You don't do that. Sometimes it can work, but this is a PG. He has to KNOW the offense and the players on the court. PG has to make all the big brain decisions and Lin did that. He's been getting extra work in practice on game days. He and Jordan went for that short D league stint to get some more run. The Knicks have been planning for this.

Maybe its frustration in the fact that he has been trying to develop Toney and Shump at the point when he had a natural point guard on the roster that looked good and did what the team was missing whenever he was on the floor. Nix, I think you said last night that it was about loyalty to vets in regards to Lin not playing more when you talked about JVG.

well i mean lin has looke much better as of late but earlier in the season he looked different not as good. So I mean you cant blmae the guy for trying to develop him and get him practice before putting him into a situation where it wont do him any good. Tonight was a good time because he has played better and he was much fresher than anybody coming off three night of games

Completely agree. The same fans wanted Shumpert playing 35mpg from the start and now they are starting to realize why we didn't start the kid from Day 1....putting all of this pressure on rookies to succeed, it just doesn't make sense until they are ready.

And if Lin had crashed and burned what would you have said in D'Antoni's defense? Because I'm sure you wouldn't have criticized him for it.

Maybe I am a bit starstruck by his performance tonight but I don't remember him ever not looking good on the court or like a natural point. I know there was a game where I lost the stream and he got in. Maybe that is what you are referring to.
