Grizzlies looked great. McDyess played great. I hope this isn't his last game.

tony allen signed with them last 3 yr 9 mil. what a steal.

vazquez was a grinder at maryland. guy's gonna be a nice pro.

see: memphis for the importance of a bench!!!!

their 9 man rotation is NICE: conley/allen/sam young/zbo/gasol with battier, mayo, vasquez, and arthur off the bench.

this team is without their best player (gay) and yet they just worked the spurs with defense, toughness, and hustle. great effort all around. nice to see.

Tony Allen left Boston and they didnt skip a beat. He is a solid role player at best.

The core of that Memphis team is Randolph, Gay, Gasol, and Conley. Everyone else is interchangeable.

a very important one, Boston tried like heck to replace him after he left knowing that they needed a wing guard off the bench.

LOL they didn't skip a beat???? they traded their starting C perkins to get jeff green to guard 2/3s and make up for the loss of allen. that guy was a huge part of their success coming off the bench and boston really F-ed up not bringing him back.

gay hasn't even played in this series, which forces the question of how integral he really is. battier and allen have been instrumental in getting them to focus on D and approach the playoffs seriously. randolph is their best player, no doubt, but the reason they beat the spurs was because they went 9 deep and were playing ferocious D, in part b/c everyone was on the same page and playing hard after they got allen and battier.

i wonder if allen would even play for MDA? can't hit the corner 3.

The verdict isn't out yet on the Perkins/Green swap.

true, but no way boston does that deal if they had re-signed tony allen.

The Jeff Green trade was about the future. Perkins was coming off knee surgery and has zero all-star potential. Paying Perkins big bucks wasn't in Boston's best interest.

Memphis won because Randolph and Gasol destroyed the Spurs frontline.

Tony Allen is a role player. He also made plenty of bone headed plays.

I don't understand the obsession with role players.

He also played great D on Ginobli but go ahead and minimize his impact he had in the series. YOUR EYES ARE FOR STARS ONLY...I'll remember this the next you mention De'Andre Jordan as if he's some STAR for the 10trillionth time

Expect some of the players from the 2010-11 roster to be gone. But Popovich again said that the core of the 61-win team during the regular season should be back next year. “There will be some changes, but we never get drastic in that sense,” Popovich said. “Somebody asked me yesterday, we lost, do we blow it up? That’s the most preposterous attitude you can have. Twenty-nine teams lose, so you need to take time to reflect.” San Antonio Express-News

Memphis is up by 9 on the Thunder. I haven't been watching but I thought they would lose this game after Friday.
