Not sure why people are hating on Wilson. The guy was a good defender even with a bum ankle. Now that he's supposedly 100%, I'd be curious how opinions on this forum will change after we see him for 10 games.
Rose is not the answer.

Chandler will walk. So will the expiring guys like Curry, Azubuke, etc.

AR, Gallo, Douglas, Walker.. all would come back. Thats the point in NOT trading for Melo now, and certainly NOT at the deadline. If we make as far as the deadline why trade for him them? We will just max him out 4 months later and keep our good young players.

exactly.. i don't get why certain people try and make it out the longer this goes on the worse we are. the fact that melo is in camp with the nuggets is a great sign for us and the longer he stays a nugget, the less chance he agrees to sign an extension with the team he's dealt to when/if he's traded. if melo is dealt at the deadline (and there will be a team that deals for him w/out a guarentee of resigning him) he'll finish out the year with that team and enter FA.

donnie has played this situation absolutely right 100% it's like playing poker with phil ivey.

If we really want Melo, you cant take the risk of waiting and hoping he'll sign. Suppose he gets traded to another team (say Chi) and the team plays really well, goes deep into the playoffs etc. Its not a forgone conclusion he'll be here next summer regardless. Remember we all thought Rasheed would sign with us the summer after he was traded to the Hawks. Next thing you know, he's traded to the Pistons and it turns out he was the missing piece. If Melo is available now you have to grab him.

If Wilson is around I hope and think you are wrong about him walking. He is too young and too talented to let walk. I get frustrated that everyone is so quick to disregard Chandler. He averaged 15 and 5 as a 22 year old. He is not the most demonstrative guy on the court but he has been asked to play the 2-4 and has done well. He is really young, talented, and has already accomplished a lot as a player. Chandler is not going to have a huge celebration, slap his chest or bring attention to his accomplishments during a game but that doesn't mean that he fulfilled his potential at 22 when he averaged 15 and 5. I think the Knicks will regret moving Chandler for the next ten years if they do it.

Agree on Wilson -
Note: He is 23 yrs old. But in the league 3 yrs and playing well for a disfunctional team.
But, if we trade for Melo, then Chandler will go as he is redundant.

Melo thinks the odds of him being traded by opening night are 50/50. Wow.

While the Nuggets continue to ponder possibilities, Carmelo Anthony hasn't yet been traded. Asked Saturday if he thinks he'll be a Nugget come opening night, Melo said: "I don't know, man. I don't know. I'm taking it day by day. It's possible that I will be here opening night."
Then he was asked, "So does that mean it's possible that you won't be?"
"Possible means 50-50," Anthony said.

The odds of him getting traded is different from the odds of him getting traded to the Knicks

New Jersey lost to Boston 96-92 Thursday night in Newark.

And guess who was sitting courtside?

"Denver scout Mike Bratz is courtside for Nets-Celtics game in Newark," tweeted Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. "His eyes stayed on Derrick Favors, who has played five scoreless minutes."

Wojnarowski added that despite Bratz's presence, "sources say no new movement on a possible deal for Carmelo Anthony. However, Nets remain determined to try."

Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated is hearing the same whispers.

"For what it's worth, Nets still feeling confident about possibility of getting Melo," he tweeted. "Still feel they can produce the best package."

So, for now, it doesn't appear like talks are picking back up between both teams. But if Denver continues to keep an eye on Favors and likes what it sees -- coupled with the Nets' hope they can still land Melo after the four-team deal went south -- it's possible Anthony could still get dealt to New Jersey by February's trade deadline.

Im posting this because it hints at Denver being the team holding up Melo being traded not Melo.

Now here's a man that really has no personal agenda and every reason to say it like it is:

George KarlOn what is going on with Carmelo Anthony:

“I still don’t quite comprehend exactly what’s going on and I don’t know if I want to comprehend what’s going on. Sometimes you get too much information. To me, I would just rather have ‘Melo and I on the same page and I think we are. The other thing is ‘Melo and I talked about if you were gonna be here I want to tell you what I was thinking about telling you. I told him that. I told him you gotta make a commitment to be a great player and make a commitment to make the next step to the next level. You still can make another step. The step I think that needs to be made is on the defensive end of the court and as a leader and a professional leader. Not a leader by voice, but by example and attitude. I said I was planning on having that talk with you, then you throw this in the mix. I’m still gonna have that talk with you. I don’t think you ask anyone that has seen the practices, it has been by far ‘Melo’s best mental camp that we’ve ever had. Has he played great? No, but he’s been a leader, he’s been on the court, we only have 15 guys in camp, and he’s been there every minute of every practice. In general I think he’s played great. I don’t know what’s going to happen, I don’t think I’m an expert in that area, and sometimes I don’t even want to be an expert in that area.”

Note to GK: What's going to happen is that Melo is going to play hard and try to win you a chip on his way out the door to the Knicks. Nice knowing you, George, but I have a legacy to attend to in NYC.

well i for one am happy that Karl said what he said...hopefully it gets through and we get a max player whio is commited to taking to the next level and...yes...committed to playing better defense

gawd knows if anthony were here today...MDA would not be having the same talk in a sit down with his new star. Looks like Karl is giving him great advice...i hope that it gets through and motivates anthony. He will get his money...but hopefully he has the desire to build a bigger legacy. I applaud Karl for having the honest commitment to say what needed to be said
