Agreed, it would be a coup If it was just the 2012 pick. But it's more than that.

we knew the 2009 pick was a bust the minute he put on his cap. and anything else in the deal is speculation at this point. there may be lottery protection on those picks. the picks may not be in the deal. the pick swap in 2011 might never come to pass - the rockets could wind up the more likely lottery team.

you're placing a ton of faith into hopes & prayers here... if these rumors are indeed true, then it's not being aggressive, it's being irresponsible.

donnie has been pretty responsible. irresponsible would have been lavishing a 4yr $20M contract on ramon sessions like a bunch of guys wanted to do over the summer.

its great if it gets 2 big names (of lbj, wade, bosh). its awful if it gets no one or lower tier guys maxed out. this deal may have more to it or be completely false so for sure anything can happen.

Maybe because they want to go out and win a championship? Get over that hump that had last year and try to match up better against the likes of Boston and Orlando. Just a thought.

I don't think there is a disagreement that Lebron may leave Cleveland. Actually, I would say that there is a strong possibility he leaves. The question is what are you willing to pay to find out? 3 potential lottery picks is a little too pricey. Because there is a small possibility that he stays.
If there is a certainty he is coming, this is a no brainer.

If NY signs Lebron or Wade in the off-season that would be their first top tier FA since I followed the Knicks. I go back a couple of decades. I know the Yankees get guys but I also got the impression that it had more about being the Yankees. I just don't see NBA FAs with that same respect of the Knicks. I could be wrong.

You may be right. But from recent history (As in the last 10 years). Unless, the 2 max players sign in July and the team develops a chemistry right away, the odds are the Knicks are the lottery team and Houston is the playoff team in 2011.

I can't answer for TMS but I can tell you that I met my brother-in-law there three years in a row to see the Cavs and hang out in Cleveland. The first year I went Wilkins was coaching and they honored him at half time. LeBron owns the city and there is alot there. That year he wasn't 21 and the bars outside the arena had the number of days until he was posted. We met there the following two years also. Face it, he's a horrible prospect and he wasnt worth much. The Knicks had no faith he would develop into anything special, or else they wouldnt have made this deal.

All the chips are in on the 2010 offseason. Lets hope for the best. If we can get two max guys, then we're on our way and if this trade goes down thats what we are, in essence, being promised.
