here's an interesting sequence i particularly noticed about Nate tonight (other than the great game he had which i'm sure i don't need to say much more about)

he got knocked down hard twice by Jeff Foster on consecutive possessions... the first time was a clean blindside pick that Foster set that Nate never saw coming & he got knocked to the ground... Nate wasn't happy about that at all & tried to set a similar blindside pick on Foster on the way back up the floor on the next possession but missed... Indy called a timeout after an out of bounds & Nate said something to Foster on the way back to the bench... now u can see that as somewhat of a negative cuz if he had gotten Foster on that retaliation pick he could have cost the team a point on a technical if the refs saw it as a retaliation on Nate's part.

now on the next possession, Nate gets knocked to the ground again hard on an inadvertent elbow to his face from Foster while they're both going for a rebound... even though it was unintentional i would probably have been pissed at that point myself, but Nate handled it well & just went back up the court, took a shot attempt that missed but then quickly followed up his shot to get the putback & the foul... that was a very nice sequence & Nate deservedly got pumped after making that play.

this is what i'm talking about when i speak about Nate... he worries u in some instances & in others he makes u wanna give him a big hug... all in all however right now he's playing lights out & it's great to see.

btw, Clyde also made a reference to Nate's penchant for showboating during the game & said he needs to chill a little w/that, so if u guys don't wanna believe me then maybe u can believe a Hall of Famer instead... love Nate's game & his heart, but he's gotta relax a little bit w/the other stuff.

Clyde is a little phony on the issue. I notice he has a problem with certain guys celebrating. He says nothing when Gallo fist pump after a rebound, block a shot or draws a charge. He says nothing of Q running down the court banging his head like he rides the short bus. Breen is the same way.

sometimes me & Clyde do... i'll tell u when i'll really give a sh!t is if Nate ever costs us a game because of his excessive showboating, which is why it raises some concerns for me... something tells me u may give a sh!t if that ever happens too.

I hear you on this one TMS. I too thought his love affair with Will straddled the line between showboating and showing the fans that he is human just like they are. Now if this was a Disney Movie I would have loved it but this was a tight game and I for one didn't think this was the time to be thinking about outside issues.

Then again, Knicks teams of the past would have folded under this pressure but Nate seems impervious to pressure. No moment seems to big for him and he seems to thrive in a highly competitive environment. As long as the result works in our favor I will take it but if we have to loose, I want to know that his mind and focus was on the game and not his new Hollywood friends or outside issues.

I actually think Nate has stopped most of his showboating. That crap when he posed under the rim after a dunk when we were losing by 25 a few years ago was show boating.

Nate is playing like a man possessed and its winning us games. I think mostly what your seeing is just energy and excitement. Dude cant contain himself and its tranlating into great play.

agreed - he is turning into a pretty good player and already the hometown favorite. if he can get his bball iq up, he can be extremely dangerous. and, if you look at his form on his jump shot this year (shooting elbow tucked in nicely, good extension when he raises up, etc), you can tell he's put alot of work into his game.
