How about a "get high" button?
When you're too stressed about the Knicks losing, or get wound up about something some dude posted on the internet- you hit the "get high" button-
It will freeze the UK site for 10 minutes. Any attepmt to log back on will lead you to Jessica Alba sites. Depending on your tastes, you can preset it w Itunes to play your favorite Otis Redding, Ludacris, Miles Davis, or Albert King song. Even better, Alba demonstrating some simple yoga postures like a Sun salutation too make us calm and flexible.
After 10 minutes of tunes, Alba, and your favorite elixer, maybe UK isn't something that creates anger- but is fun and reunites you w crazy Knick fans.

problems w/an IGNORE feature:

1 - you will still be able to read the comments that posters you ignore post whenever someone else quotes them that isn't on your ignore list

2 - conversations become disjointed & awkward reading, ruining the experience for many posters here other than yourself

3 - Lover/Hater arguments will turn into a "let's ignore this guy" or "let's ignore that guy" gang mentality where drive by shootings will be the next logical progression.


i really think the best solution is just to police yourself & just read over comments by people you don't want to post with & ignore them on your own, or report those posts to martin & Andrew so they can decide if the offending poster deserves to be banned from the Alba thread for a period of 30 days with no Kleenex or Jergens.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Honestly, I do no think that these arguments would turn into drive by shootings. That's ridiculous. Get real. Stabbings at the next get together, but drive by shootings? Insane.

2) If its only 2 posters that want an ignore button, the conversations won't be disjointed so what are you complaining about?
