Nalod, KG is one of the most unselfish stars in the league...

He's the consummate teammate and team leader...

I love KG and would deal Frye for him if I had to, but the bold part is more a media myth. This is the same KG who punched and broke his teammate's nose in a practice about 2 seasons ago.

Here's the problem with traditional building over a longer period of time for us:

CAP SPACE

Miami was able to sign Odom. Let's not forget that. Are we to keep hoping every year that we can net talented players with expiring contracts?

I mean cmon. How many times does that even happen unless there's a good reason for the seller.

Baron Davis - massive contract, injury prone (we're seeing it already)

What are we gonna do -- rely on low lottery picks?

More S&T's?

Like it's been noted over and over - the only way you win a championship in the NBA is to have the best defense, or the best player(s).

We may not win a championship with KG and Steph, but I'd rather go along for that ride than wait 10 years for the same opportunity...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

If he does a knee it's 0. Too close to 30 to make a painful deal, offer cap room and take back Wally.

It's not gonna take ten years.

Ewing averaged 22/11/2.5 at 36 and had his knees wrapped in his late 20s

And how exactly would you know.....

And what's with all this bull**** talk about KG blowing a knee. Talk about pessimism without reason.

Do you know the difference b/w Frye blowing a knee and KG?

NOTHING.

B/c we'll be way over the cap no matter the scenario.

So it doesn't make a single bit of difference.

If we're giving up Frye, it def. hurts. But again, how does Minnesota know Frye won't blow a knee. Just b/c KG is nearing 30 doesn't make him a cripple. Has he ever even had knee issues in the past?

Basically, it won't take ten years because they have a plan back in place and a good coach.

This isn't bs about KG blowing a knee, he's had knee issues and actuarily we know the chances of him blowing one or both go up the longer he plays.

Frye could also blow a knee, but we have know indication he is prone to.

One thing that is important to keep in mind is that all these players that enter from high school don't have the same timeline that we're used to judging a player by.

KG at 30 is probably equal to Ewing at 33 or so.

efw, and that is because the college schedule is so much shorter than the NBA schedule (in case any of the knothead gang don't get your distinction).

thats what it is. KG is doing fine right now as we speak. I don't know where this idea that his knee is breaking down came from. Its a good excuse for Minnesota to tell their fans

whats the plan? win with Marbury as your best player? I don't think thats happening anytime soon. Are we going to somehow get a superstar for the mid level exception? are we going to win the lottery winning 30-40games a year? Are we going to be under the cap anytime soon? NO

KG barely played at 18-19. Ewing was busy going to the finals twice in college logging major minutes. Its a wash. If KG had a history of knee problems I'd be worried but he doesn't so I don't see how people think he'll drop dead in 2yrs

Who said he was gonna "drop dead"? Do you have to exaggerate the points of others to validate your own?

KG was exempt from camp and NBA practices at 18 and 19?

judging from the post it seems everyone is so sure his career is ending early eventhough he has no history of knee problems. Seems like another case of overvaluing our own players more than than anything else

I'm serious. Can you refute the fact that an 82 game schedule that includes lots of practice with older stronger men is a not exactly the same as sitting for two years?
