Obama dominated the vote among young voters. America really is changing. I think it's all us older folks who are telling everyone that america hasn't changed, who really haven't changed.
I'm a big beleiver in education. I believe that taking money from the rich and putting it into checks to the poor will not be the key to stimulating the economy. Poor people who don't pay taxes in the first place, will still be poor. I wish that money could be spent on improving our schools, especially in the inner city, but that is a pipe dream. But I will say that the simple fact that Obama was elected will have such an effect on children in schools. For many, Obama will be the role model and not Stephon Marbury or some musician. Hopefully it changes the way many view the importance of education and the proper way to conduct yourself. It's a great day today. The first black president. Whether you supported him or not he is our president. Hopefully all of us can putour differences in philosophy aside and support the guy. But now that I have money and worked my asse off to get it, I'm more than happy to give some back. But I want to make sure it goes to the right places. Not some government program that doesn't work. In those cases I'd rather keep it to myself so that I can give to my kids. It remains to be seen if Obama changes the wasted taxation of the past and actually puts it to good use. Don't get me wrong, I have great hope that he will. But as when the Knicks sign a new GM or a new player I don't give them credit until they actually succeed. Go Obama! I just hope that people will like me
