well if the trade is Q and a 2007 lottery protected #1 its a good deal. People around here undervalue KT because they are sick of watching him while the KNicks lose but he's a good player with good value. Q has had some back problems but he's a good talent and younger also.

I think we actually made a trade and didnt horribly overpay. Call the press and give Zeke a key to the city. Its the first trade since we got Camby and Spree where we werent totally hosed.

Good trade for both teams. Nobody got fleeced. We helped them, they helped us.

no one undervalues KT. The problem is the organization strapped itself by giving H20 $100 for 7yrs and not leaving any cap room to add a much needed star frontcourt player who isn't damaged goods like Dice was.
One has nothing to do with the other. Houston and his deal havent prevented anything. Hell... we resigned Spree to max money also

unless we improve the team defensively we can also become the Clippers of the East.
Of course, thats obvious. Zeke cannot hit a HR on individual trades. Give the guy time. He finally has tradeable assests in Penny and Tim. We will improve defensively. I am sure we will strengthen our frontcourt as well. Just give it time.

hopefully we address both through the draft immediately because he has yet to trade for defense and toughness other than for 3rd string players like Rose and JYD

right its those kind of mistakes that put our frontcourt in this predictament. Thats why we're strapped and can't bring in the frontcourt players that other teams bring in and become instant contenders.

The Knicks have made too many mistakes in the past..the time has come for them to do business properly. Once we can get rid of Houston contract, Isiah needs to adopt Detroit's philosophy...there is no reason to overpay any athlete to tell you the truth. If their names are not Lebron, KG, Shaq, TD, OR WADE. From this point on, if the contract is not at 7 million or less, he needs to stay away from it.

What Houston needs to do is take J train to Brooklyn get off at Marcy Ave. and scream out "Do you love me! Tell me how a brother could get a litta mo' lovin."
Two things could happen either 1) he gets some helpful criticism from the locals and gains insight into how he can come back to help the Knicks or 2)Someone gives him 'lovin' while screaming "Marcy! What? Marcy" ....
Either way, problem solve. Let us move on.

Or he can take the E to the last stop and get off in Jamaica and walk 4 blocks to 40 projects. Same result.

There's huge news.

KT is a man.

And Marbs? I know, I know, it's a shock.

Man too.

Everyone's treating the deal like it's done, especially the players. There's no way it gets cancelled now. I think it's only a matter of a day or so.

one of the articles, bergen country record or newsday made it seem like there was a big time delay and nothing was going to happen... sigh, I'm sure we'll know by draft day.

question, would people rather have:

Kurt Thomas and Danny Granger

or

Channing Frye and Quentin Richardson?

At this point i would prefer Frye and Richardson. Younger, more athletic tandem.

Just a side note: On the realgm.com poll of who got the better end of the trade, there have been 1800 votes made and it's exactly 50-50.

I agree, we got an excellent deal, but Phoenix didn't make out so bad either. I can see why people think they got a very good deal. While we're still a couple moves from being a strong playoff team, this deal alone might be what Phoenix needed. Thomas isn't the most athletic big man and really doesn't fit their run and gun style, but he might be the best role player they could get to fill a need as a defensive big man. They could very well have the best and most well rounded starting line-ups in the league, and if they get a couple solid players to come off the bench, they could compete for a championship.

the poll isn't whether one team got the better of the other, it's who was helped more. i think we can mostly agree the knicks will be better off, but the suns will also be helped with KT more than another shooter. so both teams win; as long as the suns don't beat us in the finals over the next few seasons i don't care if it helps them more as long as we are better off in the process. the pick is pretty significant though, whoever gets the pick has a chance to make the deal a real winner.

Says in the post today that the deal should be completed by Monday. It states that the problem is the insurance exemption for Q's back, but the chances of this killing the deal are minimal.

The poll question is who got the better of the trade, not who was helped more.
