I soured on Isiah shortly after that though but this thread is amazing. I'm also in my 30s now and the Knicks got me jaded. It's no different then years of physical abuse. I will probably wind up visiting a shrink one day

Who ever could have thought Marbles would THAT phuched up?

Its so rare for a max money player to completely become so egocentric to that degree.

LIVE AND learn....I used to like marbs when he first got here, after his antics I was done. i will give a player a chance until he proves he is not worth my time...

over the years I am sure a lot of the events have turned people off, or should have..

Anyone who sits around and waits for the lottery to better themselves, either in real life or in sports, Is a Loser............... TKF

WOW, who the f resurrected this thread. Looking back, I am happy that I remained silent
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Mo Taylor was good on a bad clipper team. Post moves and all and we desperately needed someone who can score inside after Figuring out that Sweetney was a bust. The problem is that like Curry and Big Game James he gained 50lbs once here. Boy Isiah sure bad a knack for acquitting absolutely gems hub?

I think his downfall started when he became a born again Christian, while not officially telling people about it. I think those infamous interviews make a bit more sense if you look on them with that in mind. Then his father figure IT 'betraying' him was the final straw- people who find it hard to trust others can get really floored when someone they do trust 'betrays' them.

I always thought Taylor was going to be the next Juwan Howard. Howard was one of the most impressive players I ever saw live when he first came into the league and I thought Taylor had that kind of upside. He never got there.

It's interesting that people thought the tragedy of the Mo Taylor trade was that he was taking time away from our precious rookie - Michael Sweetney!

We really didn't have enough overweight players who would eventually eat their way out of the league back then. Was IT a secret 'chubby chaser'?

It's crazy how people still support Isiah and Layden when arguing who was better or worst. Those 2 eras were a joke

But being born again, cheating on your wife, smoking weed and slopping down Vaseline is a combo most people can't keep up with.

Chronological order is important. "You gonna get in truck?" followed by "I love Jesus" is about the only plan that's going to keep you married when the money starts drying up. You'll notice the born again part didn't really come out until after all the weirdness, not before.

Wasn't the 24 video thing after he was already off the knicks? The long rants, the crying, the barbie dance. Wasn't that after the born again?

BornAgainBury?

2011 he was sued for 16mm by the Bank.
In August of 2012 this appeared:

They may love him and erect statues to him in Beijing, but things are different in Virginia.

That is where Stephon Marbury, through his business entities, bought some commercial properties for investments. But the bank says they have not been paid on loans for those properties and because Marbury personally guaranteed the loans they are coming after him in court to get their pound of flesh. Or, just the cash.

The gory financial details of the well traveled former NBA scoring machine were detailed in a story at richmondbizsense.com (via SLAM).

U.S. Bank, which is servicing a bundle of loans originally owned by Wachovia, sued Stephon Marbury and several of his investment entities — one of which is called Starbury GSA — for $3 million. Marbury’s nickname as a high school phenomenon was “Starbury.”

The suit contends that, through the entities, Marbury bought industrial and office properties across the county, including one on Poplar Drive in Petersburg that was leased to the US. General Services Administration for use by the Social Security Administration….

Wachovia lent $1.4 million to Marbury in 2007. In August 2011, U.S. Bank foreclosed on the Petersburg property and sold it for $1.31 million, according to the suit. The bank alleges that it is still owed $1 million by Marbury, which includes unpaid interest and legal fees.

This is no Marbury’s first financial issues stateside, remember is home in Los Angeles was foreclosed on. And banks have gone after him before for much more money.

Marbury is in China preparing for the next season of the Chinese Basketball Association — where his team is the defending champion — and has not yet commented on the lawsuit.
