Thunder have to have as much, or more, pressure on them vs. any other team in the league.

In one year, they'll have $150M tied up in their big 3, plus another $45M in IHart/Caruso, not to mention Cason Wallace being up for extension. You can continue auctioning off guys and hope some of their plethora of picks can maintain their championship pedigree at minimum cost, but breaking up that team for finances is definitely jarring.

Yeah, they got a Championship already, but the way the league has prepared for their dynasty, have to imagine only coming away with 1 would certainly be a disappointment for them.

Our finances aren't too far behind them.

The other thing every team will need to figure out is protecting only 8 players 2 years from now. I'd guess that OKC, Spurs are gonna REALLY need to figure that out with the extra depth and picks they all got going on

Knicks got 2 second round picks for Obi, OKC just got 3 seconds for Dort.

Another lopsided trade this off season. Both Philly and Atlanta got better with good trades. 3 seconds for Dort is a steal

Not for nothing, but they did give up the #1 overall pick from 2 years ago in the trade...certainly haven't been impressed by Risacher, but you'd still think that value hasn't completely depreciated yet.

Good point! Almost benefits you to go top heavy and remain competitive in the ringchasing vet FA pool.

OKC got theirs and should have repeated this year. Injuries matter.
Keeping teams for is not easy and there will be an ebb and flow. POerhaps they can do trades with the likes of rebuildling temas with picks and come back stay relevant and that keeps the revenue flowing. Win, engage the fan base, come close, gear up, Lather, Rinse, repeat.
Or try.
Boston did it.
Denver had to.
KNicks UP next. Mitch is shame, but if he gets hurt thats also a shame. Knicks did not feel his value was there. We extracted what we could and got a chip!

WE good no matter what happens.

That would be perfect. Would prefer to see him in GS just from an entertainment standpoint, but I'm not afraid of Miami despite a potential Bron/Giannis pairing in year 1.

Philly could get difficult if he comes to the Atlantic.

LeBron's original plan was to go to GSW while pressuring them to trade butler for AD or pieces to improve the team.

GSW can also offer LeBron the most money in FA ($15m I think).

but GSW doesn't wanna do both for LeBron. so that's the holding pattern imo.

This makes sense to me. Plus, if LeBron going to MIA or CLE, he will be going for the vet min but there is no way that's all he would get. I'm assuming if he went to CLE, there would be some backdoor deal or something because LeBron is not just a player, he is a business. Probably applies to any team he goes to, give or take.

And LeBron's holding pattern is the whole NBA holding pattern to some degree.

Fantastic!! The heat that’s freaking awesome and laughable!!! Good luck with that . Three extremely overrated and flawed stars . Paired with a bunch of nobodies. I mean it kind of makes sense because of the teams he was talking about the problem would’ve been that he would have to come off the bench and I don’t think he’s into that and if there’s any team other than Cleveland that would give him his swan song it’s the heat because they’re going to be pretty mediocre so the focus will be on LeBron…

It’s too bad the heat can’t take a Time Machine back like five years for both LeBron and Giannis… Man, other than Tim Hardaway Junior, do they even have a three-point shooter on that team?… they definitely don’t have anybody coming off the bench. Pat the rat gutted the roster for Giannis and his counter was Timmy jr and 42-year-old LeBron… this might get pat the rat fired!!! Hahahhaha

Riley is the Emperor of the Empire era now in its 4th decade and the fan in me wants it to end quietly. Knicks have won some battles vs him but he has won the "Wars". Few chips that is.
That won't go away.

Is THJ even good at the one thing he’s supposedly good at shooting 3’s? His career high was 40% last season and that was with him getting wide open looks all game because he was playing with Jokic. Other than that his averages have hovered between 33-37% and he was horrific here.
