Or he and Mitch can chillax and do fart jokes for 1 more year and stay in the family of the team that developed him and made him a starter. I personally think the Knicks will feature iHart in the offense for Knicks at top of key ala Noah. He’ll be 5th option on offense level involved at OKC.

I think they see Chet as a C but I’m not really in the know there.

If you are going to overpay for someone, why not target a better fit?

Thibs has to sign off on a KAT. He is not that bad a defender and perhaps a more mature KAT with a big honking bag is down to dial it back for the sake of the team.

I remember him in college as being a rhythm player in college, but he was skinny and had subpar athleticism. If you're Luka or RJ, to a lesser extent, you can make up for a lack of explosion with strength and touch. Culver didn't have any of those things to fall back on. Maybe he was able to reinvent his game after a couple years?

If you think in terms of wingspan instead of height we are actually pretty good. If the average wingspan to height comparison is about +2", most of our guys are +4" and up. Body size matters on the block, but wingspan matters pretty much everywhere else. Tyrannosaurus Brunson bringing up the rear.

It's to bad head size isn't a metric, Brunson would lead the league! Heck if they called a foul every time Brunson got slapped in the head we'd lead the league in free throw attempts. Great info on wingspan.

Using the Indian series as an example, we didn't match up well against Siakam and Turner. Josh Hart and Achiewa could not do anything to match up against them and both are plus defenders. Granted this was without Randle and Robinson.

Brunson is a bowling ball knocking over pins. He gives as good as he takes in the paint. You see him pounding the defender with his body. Tough mofo.

Matchup against Siakam and Turner without Mitch Robinson, Julius Randle, OG Anunoby and Bogdonovic. I mean, not looking for excuses, but if your 5th man in the big man rotation doesn't matchup to an All Star and former DPOY combo? Aciuwa was Siakams backup

What comps are you using to price iHart so highly? Best comp is Mitch Robinson at 14-16mm (team friendly payment schedule). There is a particular bias on this board to overvalue our own players. I see him getting 4 years $14mm per. Maybe just a 1 + 1 deal to take him into Birdrights if there is real a question on him increasing his value this coming year.

I don't think the difference in what he gets elsewhere vs here is as high as you make it out to be. Is he that much better than Goga Bitadze (UFA)? What's going to get? iHarts 2 year 8m per contract? Jacob Poetl? ($17.5 AAV felt like a slight overpay). Mason Plumlee is a step back, but probably signs for about $5mm somewhere.

The OKC nonsense is click bait. No one is putting Jalen Williams' 7.3 Winshares on the bench behind Chet Holmgren for Isaiah Hartenstein. And, OKC has the draft capital to pick up any other remotely available backup C they want. They could just absorb Zach Collins.

Isaiah Hartenstein is very good for the Knicks, but I don't think he is plug and play everywhere else. I am not worried about magical $20mm per offers like what happened to Bruce Brown or Dillon Brooks last offseason. I don't see it.

I've always been an Oubre fan over the years even as most have consistently knocked him for both on/off court stuff.

Some guys I just like the way they move on the court and he's got a long NBA body with good mobility.

He really impressed me the way he defended Brunson and he's versatile enough to play some 2 (with size) and 3. He's 6'6" in socks with 7'3" wingspan.

He seemed to know/play his role well in Philly --- I would take him here in right situation - especially if Thibs is a fan.

Good ? --- probably a good portion or all of the MLE given his playoff performance. Though as noted he was on a vet min deal last year which was weird and he out played that deal obviously. He doesn't turn 29 until December and his body looks fine in terms of he could just be entering his prime years.

At a minimum he doesn't hurt our D and he's outstanding OG insurance who at the same time I would think would fit nicely with the rest of our squad.

Stated in another post I've always been a fan --- maybe more cosmetically as I like the movement/body-type and long arms.

I agree with you. Some of the headcase commentary gave me pause, but haven’t really seen much other than the car crash.
