Dang! Hope for a speedy recovery.

His stock dropped after he cut his hair and shrank to 6'7". Still amazed that we were duped by Calipari to take him over SGA.

Lavine is intriguing, his offensive numbers are Booker-esque.

I said before I wouldn't trade RJ for him, but if the price were one of Grimes/IQ and some picks, he could be a very interesting fit here.

The obvious issue to me in giving up IQ or even Grimes for LaVine is what is the trade off defensively? Perhaps he isn’t Fournier bad, but Thibs likes defensive intensity I hear….

its a legit concern, but heck D Mitchell isn't good on defense either. hard to find those two way players. But I think we have enough defense to cover for him, and maybe Thibs gets more out of him on that end and Zach doesnt have to work as much on offense.

Might not be popular for this belief but IQ is currently playing at a higher level on both sides of the ball than Brunson. If you told me we could trade Brunson and Randle in independent trades for a star SG and a star PF, using our stack of picks but keeping the yoots, I’d do it. Lavine is not that guy for me.

For instance,

IQ/Mitchell/Barrett/Zion/Robinson feels like a championship squad to me. Is it perfect. I dunno. But damn if I woouldnt take that swing.

Always take into account level of cometition. Brunson is not my typical player but I can't take Quick over him when Quick has problems when gameplanned for.

Look at them actually passing him the ball on his cuts. It might have taken longer than I thought but this is what I thought Obi would look like with the Pacers. Lets see if he keeps it up.

LaVine is too trigger happy, too expensive and has knee injury history so no thanks. Rather rent DeRozan at the right price for a year.

stars get paid, there's no star that we are going to trade for that isn't going to be making max.

Lavine's knees haven't been an issue in a long time.

And he should be trigger happy, he's an elite scorer and shooter. As efficient as Brunson was last year, Lavine was even MORE efficient.

It's one of fit though? How do you add another high usage guy to RJ, Randle, Brunson?

I mean i'd consider moving Randle in the deal, but if not, I think it could be made to work.

Randle doesn't have to be a 25ppg guy, Lavine is so much more efficient, I think Randle could be knocked down a bit to 18-20.

If we moved IQ as the centerpiece, that right there gives Lavine plenty of shots.

Now if Grimes were the centerpiece its a bit more complicated but I think if you can an offensive player who has put up Booker type numbers for 5 years, I think you gotta do it. He'd be the most natural and most efficient scorer on the team.

If you are going to move IQ, I think the target would be OG.

Is Lavine any better than someone like Donovan Mitchel?

I wouldn't move IQ for OG. Only thing OG has on IQ is height. OG is injury prone and older and he pretty much is what he is. I think IQ has just started to scratch the surface of his potential.

I think Lavine is on par or better than DM offensively. but he probably would cost alot less.

I think the Knicks would LOVE to move Fournier and picks for OG but don't think Toronto would every go for it. Big wing is something the Knicks need and he is probably the best defender in that space out there.

It'll be interesting to see how this shakes out.
