I think its more directed at Fizdale
Not sure. Frank has a Lin like hysteria about him despite not having much success as an nba player.

True

That’s an exaggeration.

People like Frank’s defense and believe he still has potential.

Fiz not playing him while Smith Jr plays so poorly only adds to the controversy.

It's only been 3 games of an 82 game season. Frank's time will come shortly. Smith has a ton of potential and the coach is trying to tap into it. Clearly Smith is pressing, and after today's performance, Frank's time may be sooner rather than later. Smith had some really good games for us last year so the potential is there....

This is Fiz’s second year with the team.

He has 9 new players on a 15 man roster. His continuity guys are second and third year players. Of the six guys the Knicks kept, only Trier and Dot are over age 21. Only Frank and Dot have been with the team for three years.

Yeah, lack of continuity is the reason he admittedly didn’t have a game plan Pat year and so far shows none in year 2.

respectfully, those are two different issues. Lots of new players is a problem to cohesion and execution. Too be expected with lots of new players, and that issue is on the FO for being largely clueless about how they would build the team, or if not clueless unrealistic thinking Superman FAs would save the team

Lack of any offensive game plan is a different issue and on the coach. He could have tried to run one last year and out ****ty roster would have made a ton of mistakes, but those who remained would have a better sense of what the plan is

this is also why Frank gets no burn. Fizz is hoping for a pg or whoever is handling the ball to create some pressure and disruption and the team to score in the resulting chaos. That is totally not Frank's game. Frank has issue on offense for sure but he's not the guy who will ever collapse a defense.

not attacking Kyrie last night (all night long but especially with 5 fouls) shows Fizz is clueless
Not giving Frank some burn to slow down Kemba tonight (11/17) shows he is not a head coach

give the keys to someone else.

To be fair, I was being sarcastic.

Your points are right. That’s the thing: you can have new players and watch them struggle running a system. But you see a system being ran.

That’s not what we are seeing. We are openly improvising and isolating. Many of our scores come from second chance points, which speaks well of the team fighting but not of the plays being organized.

I know most rightfully are calling for patience and more time. But don’t call crazy those of us that remember all of last season and see the same trends repeating themselves.

Agree

I was too frustrated last night to pick up the sarcasm

The king has no clothes! = fizz

You just can't keep crapping all over yourself and expect anything else from NY fans.

Man, NY Knick fans are the worst. The booing your home team thing worked back in the 90s when you had tough coaches and players. Nowadays it's a different league- the hard-ass approach isn't effective on players anymore, and the booing is counter productive. Players understandably don't like it and can go elsewhere. If you're going to boo your own players, flame them online and to their face, blast them on the radio (often after only 2 or 3 games), don't then act surprised that no one wants to come here and play for you

I agree but only to a point. The place was bumping for 3 quarters. The fans want to support the team and do so vigorously

They’re not booing hard fought losses. They’re booing unprofessional game mgmt something they have the right to expect

Boo their own 21 year old player and cheer for a Celtic. Time for me to take up stamp collecting or something.

Had no problem with them cheering Taco on. Had a problem with booing DSJr. He didn't deserve it. This is all on Fizdale.

If you’re a real Knicks fan, you’ve been held hostage by levels of incompetence that have rarely been seen in sports. You’re pay obscene prices for tickets, god forbid you want to take your kids to see a game you’re getting lit up at every turn.

Your front office sold you on a plan to essentially give away a franchise talent to chase two guys that had no intention of signing here.

They overpaid a bunch of c level talent and the one guy we were sold as a piece in the KP trade is selfish and can’t handle himself.

We are 4 games in and it’s must win time. The fans are tired of this bull****. Selfish one on one ball and our 10 coach in 20 years has no semblance of an offensive plan.

If you sit idly and keep paying these prices and don’t let the front office know they suck nothing changes.

So according to you "real" knicks fans shouldnt go to games now? Sorry but thats just stupid. Real fans will support their team no matter what. I agree ticket prices are expensive but thats the case with most teams.

^Fans should boo but it was directed at the wrong person. It looks like DSJr is collateral damage. Fans should be booing Fizdale

No, if you’re going to games after all the **** we have had to watch the past two decades and all the incompetence we have been subjected to between, Layden, Isiah, Grunwald, Jackson and we will hold judgement for one more offseason, you have the right to boo.

It’s the home opener. Boston isn’t an elite team in this league and they blew the Knicks off the floor and managed to turn the game into a comedy by the time Taco entered the game.

Effort and Selfishness are two thing we can’t afford.

DSJR was half assing it the other night and allowing defenders to embarrass him. Don’t love fans booing individual guys, but he’s getting targeted because Fizdale can’t coach and puts people in the doghouse for no reason. He did it with Dotson last year and he’s doing it with Frank. Can’t preach defense then play guys that can’t play it.

Does booing DSJ help the situation? Or does it make things worse?

right to boo is one thing

whether to boo is another

i agree with those who note he's still just a 21 yr old kid

But i also think he didn't do himself any favors about being limited to 4 shots the game before as quoted in the Post

We need to win some games

They shouldn’t be booing the kid. He’s in a slump and it’s barely legal for him to drink. He’s clearly lost and needs direction. He’s a better player than what he has showed and he obviously needs to improve his defense. Booing a kid will solve nothing.
