I'm just glad we also got a great young prospect cuz it would be a shame to come out of this draft and not get a top talent as well. Then when you throw Jerian into the mix it was a great draft for us.I like Porzingis but I almost jumped through the ceiling when the Lakers took Russell and I thought the Knicks had a shot at Okafor. I thought Hinkie would take Porzingis or Mario. I did not say that Hinkie would not have traded the pick, I said that he would not pass on him for another player. We had no chance at the top 3. They were as solid as you can get. so here is what phil is thinking ....

![]() What an exciting game! Never let that game get too far away from us after the poor start. Closed the gap toward halftime and stayed within striking distance the rest of the way.
Porzingis has been a mixed bag so far for me. Tonight, his length on defense really helped against Okafor but what the hell is he on offense? Biggest enigma out of anyone picked in the first round. Not being critical at all--I'm just beyond curious as to what we have with this kid. What I see is either he's not being aggressive enough demanding the ball and then not aggressive enough once he does get it or he's not getting it enough. Hard to tell--maybe a little of all 3. I really wanna see the kid want the ball more, then shoot the ball more. I wonder where his sweet spots are on the floor. I have trouble figuring out what his identity will be on offense, where he'll be most effective, even what position he should play and what players on the 15-man he'll be effective playing with. That's a ton of questions for someone picked 4th in the draft. And let's call it like it is--there's about 10 more questions where those came from...What I really liked tonight was his halftime interview -- admitting he was playing poorly and needed to play better was indeed refreshing, I agree with Breeny. Ndour's not going to Europe. Either we keep him with one of the 2 remaining spots or someone else is signing this kid. Love him -- he's an impact player on both ends, plays with great energy and is fully engaged with his teammates at all times, on the court and in the huddle--giving guys encouragement etc. This last part is a pleasant surprise and an added bonus, as if there wasn't enough to like already. I mean he's the first one going over to Early to tell him he could go in the backcourt to get that ball; he's out there telling Zinger stuff and Zinger's listening and following his lead; I see him talking in the huddle, etc.. I'm glad Fisher's right there seeing this. This kid's a keeper..How the hell do you let this guy get away now?? I don't want to beat a dead horse but I can't believe we jumped the gun and signed LT And Amundson. I think it was a mistake to sacrifice good roster flexibility to sign 2 superfluous players that would've been there at the end of TC if we still saw the need. I'd much rather have Ndour and Thanasis with those 2 spots. I was thinking a guard and a legit C with the remaining spots but I think one of those spots needs to go to Ndour now, I don't care what he does now the rest of the way. If Shved's really no longer an option, gimmie Elliot Williams and Maurice Ndour and let's roll. And what's up with Galdikas? Can we see this guy play please? What's up with the DNPs? Doesn't look hurt--he's in uniform on the bench. We have a pretty good idea what Kirk can do--his strengths and weaknesses. Let's see Galdikas now. I can see competition between Kirk and Galdikas for one of the last spots going right down to the wire in TC unless we say that with RoLo, O'Quinn, Porzingis we already have enough depth at 5 and go with Ndour and a guard. |
