Dwayne Davis June 28, 2013 HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Former Southern Miss men's basketball player Dwayne Davis signed with the Golden State Warriors, Friday morning. He will participate for the Warriors in the NBA Summer League. Davis earned First Team All-Conference USA last year, leading the Golden Eagles with 16.0 points, good for seventh in the league. He was also seventh in three-point field goal percentage (.413), 11th in free throw percentage, connecting on 78.7-percent and 14th in field goal percentage (.489). "I am extremely happy for Dwayne," said Southern Miss head coach Donnie Tyndall. "As a graduate of Southern Miss, he has overcome a lot in his life. The Warriors are getting a great player and an even better person." The Philadelphia, Pa., native scored in double-figures in 27 games and has led the team in scoring 12 times. He also pulled down 4.5 rebounds per game. He was also named to the All-Tournament Team of the Portsmouth Invitational. |
