He's just funny that way.
He'll be eating his words in the playoffs.
He does have a point though. Games like this one really make you notice just how much we miss Melo (especially against good defensive teams).
We also haven't shown yet that we can beat
Boston
Chicago (without Rose!)
Ok... But we've shown that we can beat both Miami (twice) and San Antonio (twice).
Losing to the Celtics by 6 points and two loses against Chicago? That's NBA basketball...
I admire your glass half full viewpoint. I would say "That's NBA basketball" about weird losses to Sacramento and Portland.
Chicago and Boston?
Both teams worry me because they are very well coached and feature smart veteran defenders that have been through playoff battles together. (Bulls Celtics playoff series was epic) The Celtics have been together so long and Pierce KILLS us in crunch time. The Bulls play every team in the league tough on defense. I love this seasons's squad but we haven't really played very many games together let alone playoff wars. We play both teams again soon.
let's hope we show something.
NYKMentality gets upset at any knick fan who tries to be honest. Teams like Boston/Bulls do give the knicks problem because they both play very good defense and play smart. so far we have lost to the bulls twice without rose and to boston without rondo.
Both OKC and Miami lost to the Wiz, and the Wiz took the Nets into double OT before falling. Personally, I'd rather lose to an actual good team than a godawful one like the Wiz. Just saying. Our primary goal should be to handle business at home (check) & beat the teams we're supposed to beat (check +). We've actually been doing both this season (Kings loss sans Melo notwithstanding.) If we lose to a good team, there is no shame in that. At least imo.
it's not really about shame. to me it's more about mentally establishing to ourselves and to the Celtics and Bulls that we can beat them.
it's not ideal to go into a playoff series against an opponent that has swept you during the regular season. The Shaq/Kobe Lakers had their ups n downs during the regular season but I think they got up for facing teams they'd face in the playoffs and trying to get it in their heads "You can't beat us"
I hear you. I want to beat those teams because mostly because I hate them. LOL But I appreciate that we don't give away wins against bad squads and that we've been a good home team. The team is 10-8 vs teams that are over .500 and 13-3 against teams that are less than. It's not like we haven't gotten some big wins this season (Heat & Spurs twice). Once the Knicks are healthy - or as close to healthy as they can be - then let's see what they can do.
