I could care less when they come. It doesnt matter when you chant Fire Isiah, these games are meaningless since we're not going anywhere.

What was it, our 4th consecutive loss? Down 6 with a minute to go to the worst team in the league on the second night of a back to back where they got blown out by 28 the night before.

Taken in context, especially after Isiah bad-mouthed the fans the game before, I thought the fans were pretty reserved.

just watched the game on replay... IMO the fans went too far tonight w/the 'Fire Isiah' chant in crunchtime... the team was making a comeback only down by 6 pts. with just about a minute left in the game, & the fans started up the chant right after the likely rookie of the year Kevin Durant blew past D Lee for a monster 2 handed dunk in the lane.

how does anyone think that helped motivate the players to play harder at that stage of the game? i can understand completely the chants when the team is getting blown out at the garden, but this was a closely contested game at that point & Jamal was carrying the team back w/his offense.

Isiah deserves to be fired, there's no arguing that, but at that point you wanna win that game, don't u? or am i wrong in holding the fans accountable on this one?

You're delusional. This is the Sonics! The Knicks suck, plain and simple. Fire Isiah chants are deserved at any time, reardless if we're winning or losing.

And no, there is no point in winning these meaningless games. It's time to root for us to lose to get a top pick.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

ok, fair enough... i thought the game was within reach & when ur team is fighting hard to get back in the game it's not the right time to start up those chants.

Hey man 99.9% of the time I'd agree with you, but with the way this franchise has gone, I don't think there is ANY time that is inappropriate, but that's just me.

If they actually fought hard from the very beginning, they would have blown the Sonics out last night. They never should have been in that position to lose the game.

I think the fans were well within their right to boo at that point, when it looked like they were going to lose a game against a very young, small and tired team who was playing back to back games, their 3rd game in 4 nights, while going cross country.

i think it was more of a reaction to D Lee getting PWNed off the dribble by Durant... the fans wish they had a player like that... i can understand it from that point of view... but man, they were screaming their heads off during that comeback & it was igniting & energizing the team... all of a sudden the Durant dunk & then the chants ensue, & the team folds in the final minute... i guess it's pretty much par for the course over Isiah's tenure.

I didn't hear anyone "screaming their heads off." The arena was quiet before they began "Fire Isiah" chants.

? when Jamal was getting the team back in it the crowd was into the game... watch the end of the game again if u don't believe me... then D Lee gets dunked on & the crowd goes "OOHHH!"... then the chants start up.

The arena was half-empty. The only people cheering were kids.

I saw the whole game...unfortunately.

AT some point it was bound to surface TMS. It could have been a build up also of Nick Collison on Luke Ridnour running amuck on us. You act like our fans have short term memory.

no, that's not how i'm acting... i said i understand the fans chanting it, only that at that particular moment it seemed inappropriate to me w/the team battling back to within reach of winning the game.

TMS, you're not wrong. It's just a matter of context. If we were on an upswing and the fans had ANY kind of belief in the team it would have been another matter. But in that moment the fans just knew it was over. It was something of a breaking point of the game, and the fans were thinking "oh god, here we go again, against the worst team in the league. These guys are hopeless." It really had very little to do with the specifics of the play, or even the game, it was just the visceral expression of 8 years of frustration with little hope in sight.

if Durant had just gotten fouled & made 2 FT's instead of dunking it i think the reaction is different... i think it was more driven out of embarassment how easily he got past D Lee in that critical of a situation for an easy dunk that drove them to chant w/o considering the actual circumstance of the game.

that said i completely understand the loss of faith... trust me, i'm in the same boat as the rest of u on that one.

Well yeah, I think the fact that the Knicks playing pathetic defense at a critical juncture of the game was what set off the fans who are already on the edge, with little patience for this team.

This isn't even a case of the chicken or the egg. The Knicks made their bed and have put their fanbase on edge with their poor play. The fans don't have to apologize for how they treat this team in any situation. The Knicks haven't earned the benefit of the doubt.
