sweet jesus...the apocalypse is upon us. this is the first sign - bonn saying he's dissapointed with isiah.

all we need now is for dido to become president of the kurt thomas fan club and for isles to get laid and the world will explode.

JYD avgs 4.5 pts and 3.6 rebs last year and is guaranteed $14M the next 2 years so they amnesty him.

JJ avgs 4.9 pts and 3.0 rebs last year and the Knicks sign him for $30M over the next 5 years.

Only Isiah and the Knicks.

LOL.. good catch, but I knew that, didn't even bother to correct him because the point is that JYD is not moveable, not at all, and the fact that his deal didn't expire this year made him even less moveable. I found it funny that he said, JYD was moveable..LOL.. for what?????!!!

for your momma LOL

Hell before my mother died a couple of years ago, even she had more game than JYD.

so... to sum this thread up: the Knicks did something today and people can finally resume their normal griping instead of making stupid trade ideas. Training camp is only 48 days away, folks.

no dude, what happened today was the end of the knicks as we know it....OR....a small blip on the radar. whatever the case, aren't you happy we have this site to BS all day. AWESOME.

if it werent for the knicks...man...i don't know what i would do...maybe i'd have a job, a wife, kids, money in the bank, and happiness - but other than that, i don't know what i would do.

im not reading all of these posts, but this is an Isiah spin job again. J Williams has a two year contract worth 12.5mm$, so the savings on that contract is 12.5mm not 21+. If this is the route they went, OK, but don't lie about it.

JMHO, this was fiscal stupidity but this is all Dolan. Im sure Isiah wanted to dump Allan, but Dolan has kisd Allan touchy since hes been here.

Not only that Isles, but JJ is our only true senter at the moment. JYD was at a position where we have a hude surplus of redundant players. But I, apart from everyone else, see the genius in your comparison between our center and JYD.....we chould have amnestied JJ instead. Got it!

Nah Briggs, Fishmike and Isles said it's all Isiah. So you must be wrong on that.

LOL; it's actually the fifth relatively minor decision Isiah made that I've publicly disagreed with. You may have just not been paying attention the other times.

JYD is a PF right? This means that he could potentially take away time from Frye and Lee. NY has a glut at PF, so they waived the guy that helps them the least. Rose does exactly what JYD does but is a winner. Even with this cut NY still has too many PF's. I expect a deal in addition to this cut. Cuttin Houston was too much of a risk that he would come back and win a ring with another team. For Dolan that matters even though the Knicks are not in that realm yet.

HOuston if healthy can be a great weapon for this team. Ny could really spread the Defenses out with Q and H20 and let Frye, James and Sweetney work down low one on one.

Thanks, JYD, job well done. Knick fans always will always appreciate your hustle.

I've read alot of the ealier posts on this tread and had to stop to see who it was we were talking about.

JYD is a nice player to have but he isn't a key player on any team. JYD is grossly overpaid.......

TKF said it best.....David Lee needs to play. He can now get in from time to time now that JYD is gone. It doesn't get more simple.

As far as Rose or Mo T? Either one could be traded. Rose is respected around the league and Taylor can score.

As far as Houston not being waived.....the dood has always been a bum, but the Dolans and the organization needs to have more class and they showed it by letting Houston go on his terms.

Let's move on. JYD won't be missed.

No. JYD plays 0-5mins per game. The guy who's going to take away sweetney, frye & lee's minutes is Malik Rose. At least Taylor is our most consistent scorer inside. Waiving JYD and not Rose will hurt the developement of the younger players but this is the Knicks why would anyone expect anything more!

It would be great of Rose is waived or traded. then I would be extremely happy with the way the PF glut was cleared. And it is very possible that Rose is waived. Isiah didn't make that trade to get Rose he did it for the 2 1st rounders. Taylor is someone he wanted so Rose will go before he does.

This move makes no sense whatsoever. He may be overpaid, but at least he plays like he cares every single game and is a great guy in the locker-room. It's an absolutely terrible decision.

Fish, gimme a break. If Isiah amnesties Shamdon and THEN waives JYD, there'd be even more of an outrage. "We got rid of JYD for nothing! That's so stupid!"

Not saying this board is a bunch of malcontents, but lol, you guys sure are looking for something to complain about. All. The. Time. The overreaction to this waiver is just the latest example. You'd think we just traded Ewing for Weatherspoon or something. Folks, it ain't that big of a deal, and it's not obvious that any other waivers would have been clearly better. Get over it, enjoy this nice summer day.

exactly... good post..

It all goes back to the Mo T trade. If Isiah doesn't make that moronic trade then they have the roster spot that they need to keep JYD and amnesty Shandon.
Yeah, next year there'll be a spot. They are under contract this year so there would actually be one less roster spot.

who on the current team would play ahead of JJ? no one.

who on the current team would play ahead of JYD? well, at PF, probably sweets, frye, and rose. and at sf, probably ariza and TT.

i dont like the waiving of JYD, but i can see why it was done. its all about the minutes to me.
